You might have the same issue I encountered recently. I hadn't played the game in a while and when I came back I wanted to use LOD restored. So I downloaded my 1.0.9 version and it just would not work. I opened it up and could see the changes but the game would just refuse to load the changes from the bin. There was no updates to the game or anything since last I had played it just simply would not work.
I had to do this to fix it https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/1655 You may need to do the same. Very straight forward process. Took me less than 5 mins to do. I plan on making a video guide for this
1. open yapper and extract the cvs from 1.09 version 2. open your freshly verified ER bin 3. import the extracted cvs
Yep, it works. Thanks. The difference between vanilla lod and this one is night and day. The only concern i have that they ll mess up regulation bin. with Shadow of the Erdtree release like CAPCOM did with monster hunter world.
Just to clarify- the above file in the link should be re-named to regulation.bin (and placed in .../game folder)?
That is my bad. I didn't archive the bin when I stuck it on mega and then when I named the file it renamed the bin. I have uploaded again. You just need to download and unpack. The bin I have uplaoded is the one I had fix using yapper.
Hello. I ask what similarly Caparzoo asked: I'm also using the convergence mod and there are two locations in the Elden Ring folder which have different regulation.bin inside them - \ELDEN RING\Game, the 2144 KB regulation.bin from you which I replaced with the original one - \ELDEN RING\Game\mod, another 2311 KB regulation.bin (from convergence mod?)
I'm clueless; what to do? These two different have to be merged and then placed in the two different location? Thanks.
On this update it's still currently working for me. To test go to the bonfire where you meet Melana and work your way back to the telescope on the path and turn round. If the banners on the walls have despawned then its not working. If it's not working for anyone else then I will happily do an update again if required.
Can you post the actual regulation.bin? I did exactly what the instructions say but it hasn't done anything. I even manually changed exported and imported the individual params and that did nothing.
SupremeKingGaiseric, you are indeed a supreme king among men. Bless you for this. The draw distance was driving me insane, but the latest modded reg.bin file works like a charm on v1.10.1. Well, shadows still pop in but textures and objects don't, as far as I can tell. Still miles better than Vanilla.
Does anyone know if it is possible to just increase the lod of buildings? The mod lowers my overall performance quite a bit but I would be interested in just more lod for buildings like Raya Lucaria which from afar looks very pixelated
Yes possible. This https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/2982?tab=description changes large object lod and excludes the shadow changes that this one changes. These can have an effect on performance depending on your system.
Unfortunetly both of these are not updated. My updated CV I made and linked combines all changes from both of them.
When the DLC drops I will be doing a release that will be kept updated. I will happily make a version without the shadow changes for better performance.
In Limgrave near the Gatefront Ruins my GPU (7900XT) gets demolished :D At 3440x1440 with max settings (no RT) it jumps to 99% usage and FPS "drops" to 58. Everywhere else it seems to be fine though i do get some spikes from like 70% usage to 88% (no FPS drops) from time to time.
Updated 1.09.1 and also included CSV params incase anyone want's them. For whatever reason I can't import the CSVs provide by mod author I always get an error in map studio. But if I export them myself from one of the updated versions It allows me to then import them with no issues. For reference I'm using DSmapstudio version 1.06
Is there a specific csv value that controls the cascade shadows definition distance? the shadow transition between defined/blurry is very close to the player, and I was wondering if it can be tweaked
I'm trying to create 1.09 version. When I'm imporitng CSV files I get an error message CSV has wrong field name ? Why ? Anyone help ?. I don't have any issues importing the CVS files from sig better draw distance
That doesn't work. I click ok on the error box and the CVS has not been imported EDIT: I managed to get it sorted. I exported the CSVs from the updated 1.08 version. I have now succesfully imported to 1.09 regulation bin

The above linked bin has the LOD restored changes AND the significantly better draw distance changes from here https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/2982
sig better draw fixes stuff like the flags on towers disappearing when you get to a certain distance. I have found no additional perf loss.
If you do have any issues then let me know.

Can someone download and test if it works now ?
Yep that works now Chris, cheers. Makes a big difference doesn't it!
When opening with Map Studio many of the params say:
null
is that normal? I'm trying to merge this regulation.bin with the on from Reforged.- \ELDEN RING\Game, the 2144 KB regulation.bin from you which I replaced with the original one
- \ELDEN RING\Game\mod, another 2311 KB regulation.bin (from convergence mod?)

Thanks.

LOD restored 1.09.1
I have updated to version 1.09.
One question though: Does it work with the new ray tracing option or does it produce weird lookin shadows or does it simply not work at all?
I have not updated the game yet, because I do not wanna play without this mod. :)
The mod will still work properly.
