A Simple HUD mod following my preferred HUD config. All HUD elements are hidden during regular play (including Howler icons), aside from the health bar and interaction prompts. The world icons only display when using Survivor Senses, and have been scaled down by around 50%.
What sets this apart from other HUD mods (and the reason I chose to post it here) is that this mod does not require you to make any modifications to your existing game files. This will (hopefully) make it less likely to break when Techland update the game. Additionally, as mentioned, I've modified the files so that world icons will still be present on screen, but only when using Survivor Senses.
Note that this is my personal config, and I'm only about 10 hours into the game so there may be things I've missed. Any issues, drop a comment or a bug report and I'll try and get on it. If this mod gains any traction, I will either create variations of this mod to suit other users preferred configs, or post a detailed guide on how to accomplish your own configurations.
To install, simply drop the data2.pak file into your 'Dying Light 2\ph\source' directory. If you are already using another mod that uses the data2.pak file, you can either rename this file to 'data3.pak' (or a higher number in the case of multiple mods - data4.pak/data5.pak etc), or you can use an archive utility such as 7zip to merge the mods yourself.
If you like the mod, an endorsement would be appreciated!

FAQs
Can I re-enable the compass/radar?
You can re-enable the radar by opening the data2.pak file in 7zip and removing the gui\hud_pc\radar_pc.gui file. However, due to the way in which the HUD works in game, I've had to modify the icons on the radar somewhat in order to get them to display correctly when using survivor senses, so it may behave differently to how it usually would (icons showing at shorter distances, icons on the radar that would normally only be floating icons etc).

Could you make a version where all elements (eg. Health-bar) are off, and they turn back on when using survivor senses?
Haven't been able to figure that one out yet. There's a hud config file with "hud groups" in it, where you can set hud items as on or off when in different states (ie, turn the compass off when in survivor senses). But I can't for the life of me find a file that details the default config. There's no "default group" in the file, so it must either be configured somewhere else, or certain HUD elements are hard coded to on by default and the groups are used to toggle these things off given certain conditions. If I manage to find out if/where the default hud is configured, I could set everything to 'off' by default, and then toggle them back on when using survivor sense. But right now I'm at a loss of how (or even if) this can be accomplished.
