too many errors from different angles, after 30 minutes of gameplay or something like that, first time sounds gone , re-install , work for a little bit, crash, not responding, freezing, after any new try a new error come... incredible.
I would like to request an alternate version of it that removes the locks on chests, but keeps them on car trunks and doors. I'm a stickler for immersion and to me it makes complete logical and realistic sense for the doors and cars to be locked, but the chests don't really feel realistic in the game, they feel very "video gamey" and there are sooooo many of them that are locked that I would like just those to have the locks removed. Plus the amount of locked car trunks feels pretty small in comparison to the other stuff. Police cars are sorta rare and mostly found in specific spots anyway, it's paced out better. I like the lockpicking for the realistic stuff, but I want the chests to feel like other games like borderlands or something where the chests have different rarities but none of them are ever locked. Even if you don't fulfill my request, this is still a great mod and I'll probably end up using it anyway but it's going to slightly annoy me the entire time because I really do want the cars locked. I would modify the mod myself but I extracted the mod and I don't know how to open the containers.loot file so I don't want to mess with it myself since I don't know what I'm doing. A tutorial for that would also be appreciated, if possible.
You will need to install Winmerge. There's many ways to do this it seems, open the .pak file with 7zip (or rename the .pak to .zip) and extract the files from this mod into a folder called Mod. Then Extract the vanilla files from Data0.pak into a folder called Vanilla. Select both folders and you can right click them and compare with winmerge. After that you should be able to figure it out. Here is another version I've had tucked away and recently updated. I don't know if there's any differences between this and the mod here it seems this one has more files. But it might help you so here you go: compare.zip
Omg you're awesome thank you so so so much for this quick reply! I followed the instructions and edited the file and now I have my version of the mod, tested and works! Again thank you for that pointing me in the right direction (I'm noobish at these things), maybe I can edit other files the same way now too?

This mod is great. Shout out to DeathWrench too for explaining how you can customize it. I too thought removing all lockpicking containers was a tad too much. I don't mind the lockpicking mini-game per se but it does grow tiresome, especially because of how many locked containers you encounter. So I edited it that only "hard" and "impossible" difficulty-level locked-containers/vehicles remain (I may end up removing Hard too - still feeling this one out).
Basically, if I'm forced to lock pick, at least it will be much more rewarding as I was pretty much ignoring all easy and medium containers at this point and not even bothering to loot them anymore - This flows much better now! You can tell the developers want lockpicking to fundamentally be part of the decision making as nearly all "impossible" difficulty police vans are in extremely crowded areas which force you to use some sort of distraction and work under pressure. It feels like too much of a cheat to just remove that dynamic entirely. Removing medium difficulty lockpicking vans already makes it so you can snatch and grab ambulance medkits super fast so that's cheating enough, lol!
Tesjvcom, if you still need a modified lockpicking file, just let me know and I can send it to you. But it's really easy to do it yourself following DeathWrench's guide. I used Notepad++ with the "Compare" plugin instead of Winmerge, btw. Many people have that useful app already installed on their PCs. Just knowing how to do this really opens up the doors to tweaking any other mod you may see on Nexus that interest you but have you saying "if only this or that..." Again, much thanks DeathWrench! This has made my playthrough much more enjoyable.
