Dear author, isn't it completely stup!d to overwrite THE WHOLE data0.pak instead of just replacing the few files you modified? Let me anser the question myself, YES this is completely stup!d and the crap mod doesn't work, the game doesn't work with this nonsense "mod" that should be better described as garbage.
I don't get it, what the f* is going on in someones mind who just replaced a whole config folder instead of the actual tiny amount of affected files? Real modders do it exactly that way, they tell us what files we have to put where and not just overwrite everything, this is BS.

Dont use this data0.pak file he gave us to download. Just simply open up the data0.pak he is providing us and look for scripts, inventory, inventory_gen.scr. Rip it out of the data0.pak and use it in your own data3.pak. I get why you're fustraited for all this, believe me I get it. He should have not been so lazy and provided us with just the file he moddified.
1. Download 7.zip and install it. 2. Right click his data0.pak he had provided. 3. scroll down to 7zip, scroll over to open archive. 4. look for scripts, inventory, inventory_gen.scr. 5. open your Data3.pak the same way. 6. drag scripts, inventory, inventory_gen.scr from his data0.pak to your data3.pak
so... I manually edit the game files, thanks to mod creator for posting a sticky note on December 30th, 2021. It works with no issue and no crashing playing on STEAM with the latest version of Dying Light : Enhanced Edition.
Go to your game installation folder and open DW folder Right-click to open the Data0.pak and goes into Data > Scripts > Inventory Again, Right-click to edit the inventory_special.scr and search MaxAmmoCount for Smg ammo, Arrows and Bolts Change the values to 999 and save! You'll get a notice of updating the Data0.pak after closing the notepad, just click OK

as soon as i change any record in inventory_gen to get higher ammo count my game won't launch anymore. i got a black screen an have to kill it with taskmngr. newest update.
Thanks to your sticky i've been able to change all MaxAmmoCount to 999 for game version 1.47.0 using WinMerge (pretty handy as it can compare 3 files, unlike Notepad++ only two which can be fine enough though, so the original base game file, your modded one and my new modded one with a few right clicks).
i followed the sticky to change the MaxAmmocount to 999, but nothing happens, I can only carry the default amount. Any tips or tricks to get it to work?
