- Go to Steam\steamapps\common\Dying Light\DW and make a COPY of Data3.pak
Then:
- Open the existing Data3.pak containing your other mods (if any), and drop the data folder from this mods download into your Data3.pak (You can open .Pak's using 7zip or some similar winzip/winrar software)

This sticky/instructions pinned worked perfect for me (April 16th 2025) Running Enhanced version

Thank you! Those pesky XBox overlays were annoying af... so glad I don't have to worry about switching between weapons or reloading... even healing. Again, awesome MOD!
This mod still works perfectly fine in the latest version of the Definitive Edition (which is 1.49.3 or 1.49.0 patch 3). I've tested this alongside 10+ other mods I have installed.
Just leaving this here in order for future users to not worry about whether or not this mod still works :)
Works perfectly, dot PS/DS4 icons!!! Whoo Hoooo! And it does not disable steam achievements since it's not a Bethesda Game lol
The instructions are quite clear, however I am a noob when it comes to modding or altering game files so if other noobs get slowed down or hung up like I did then follow this real quick tip:
Download 7zip if you do not have it and then on the .pak file just right click it and then select the list option 7zip>open archive and then drag the "data" folder from the mod into the ,pak3 file.
As far as I can tell, this does not currently work. Followed instructions and my game just hangs on the splash screen instead of booting up. Would love an update if possible!
Can you you remap it so that the jump button is a normal button like a or y or x or triangle for ps4 controller? I beat this game using XBOX one controller and absolutely hated using the top buttons for jump. Every game I've ever played since back on the first mario had a A or B jump button. Still to this day have NO idea why the devs did not allow users to assign their own button scheme.
