for some reason data.pak3 is not a folder and instead is a file called "placeholder.file" posts below say i need to put the common skills in there but i cannot do so because it not a file, do i reinstall the game maybe?
Open up the Data0.pak of the mod you currently have installed in winrar or a similar program. Go into the folder called skills and extract the file called "common_skills" to your desktop. Right click the file and open it in notepad or a similar program. You wanna go down to where it says this:
i have no mods but when i normally do it like the mod asks me to it just does the same error text thing is there a way to do it without a mod in data3.pak? my data3.pak just has a placeholder file inside
Does this code basically allow me to add this wallrunning WITHOUT changing the data0 file? I would love to know how to add this mod to another one that changes the data0 file :/
Can confirm that it works with tic-tac fairly well. Sometimes if you come at a wall from an angle it might not know which to use, but mostly it's been fine. Take that with a grain of salt though as I have not tested extensively yet.

<skill id="runningprof1" cat="runner" tier="4" max_level="1" desc_params="freerunning_proficiency;NODE;P;M:runningprof1" skill_points="1" skill_points_type="Runner">
<level_req type="Runner" value="5"/>
<effect id="MaxFitness" change="0.75"/>
<effect id="JumpOverAvailable" change="1"/>
<effect id="NaturalMovementDevelopmentLevel" change="1"/>
<effect id="RunnerXPClimbShimmyUp" change="2.5"/>
<effect id="RunnerXPClimbEdgeGrab" change="10.0"/>
<effect id="RunnerXPClimbJump180" change="5.0"/>
<effect id="RunnerXPClimbFromBottom" change="7.5"/>
<effect id="RunnerXPClimbFromTop" change="2.5"/>
<effect id="RunnerXPJumpOn" change="5.0"/>
And add this to the bottom:
<effect id="WallRunExtraGravity" change="0.1"/>
<effect id="WallJumpingHeight" change="1.60"/>
Also, instead of putting the file back into data0.pak, put it into data3.pak's data/skills folder like in DeathWrench's comment below.

Any help/clarifications would be appreciated!

Here is an example image of what your mod SHOULD look like.
