    Just a heads up.
This mod doesn't work with the newest beta patch 1.4 (because the manager doesn't work either) and it also doesn't work by itself without the manager on 1.4 version. You will probably need to adjust the mod when the game is updated, if you want it to work. Please do that, your mod is really needed

Also, Dying Light will most likely have Steam Workshop, I would love to see your mod there as well

EDIT: In order for this mod to work with version 1.4.0, you need to use the Manager like before but instead of extracting the mod files to Documents/DyingLight/ you need to extract them to Documents/DyingLight/out/

Do you know how to look for specific items in Inventory.scr? I wanna buff the damage of the comando knife and the handyman's hatchet.

Did this really Change all weapons ? im not sure about that because i found many more weapons in other files aswell and im also not sure how this is will get calculated for each Level. There are much Weapons listed but not that much as are in the Game for each different Level and Zone but maybe they get calculated from an amount of base weapons i dont know. Anyway there are a few Files with Weapons but the important ones are inventory.scr and inventory-gen.scr both have listed Weapons thats the main reason why im asking.

If you look at the "inventory.scr" damage base #'s, almost every entry is 15, so its not worth changing that in relation to the player. There is something that is interesting though, their ITEM names have an _AI after the main weapon name that I did not notice before... wonder if that means the obvious, the NPC's weapons are really nerfed? There are a few in there that have a higher damage modifier, but nothing significant as well.

Yeah i think thats the base of broken damage and certain throwing weapons, other weapons get calculated by the inventory-gen. What i dont understand is how other weapons get calculated for each Level, i dont saw any file or Multiplier what does that. I think that the inventory-gen holds all weapons with its base stats and the rest gets calculated over a Multiplier that is hardcoded or im not able to find it.

Ps: theres also a funny lie, the file like certain others like the ai files say "dont modify" because they get generated by a script file that doesnt exist. Maybe this should prevent People from modding because im sure that non of this files get generated, they are read only by the Engine.

Btw: on the bottom of inventory-gen you can Change the Multiplier for damage difference between White, blue etc colored weapons, pretty nice.

Good observations and ya I also went searching for the script files mentioned, and found nothing, so as you mentioned the may be hard coded or something, so if we got an SDK, we could prob find them... thanks for the info as well!

This is a great mod man! only one problem: I am still able to buy weapons that do like 500 damage or higher, is there any way to mod this back?

      Hi there, thank you!

You can always go into "inventory_gen" file and change the values yourself to even lower if you wish. Located in
C:\Users\XX\Documents\DyingLight\data\scripts\inventory. The original values just on paper where way too high, so this mod is more of a baseline and also everyone may have a different opinion on the damage output. All you need to do is drag the file over into notepad, then do a CTRL+F and find "Damage(" no quotes, you only want to change the numbers with just damage in front of it, not the criticaldamage entry. There are many weapons, so may take a little bit going through it. Let me know if have any other questions.

Did anyone test if this works with the dying light manager and the newest patch?

All the mods I've tried work with the dying light manager and newest patch. I'm using Timepiece, no hud, this reduced melee weapon damage mod and longer timescale, they all work perfectly fine.

High level player here, the damage reduction at lvl 22 survivor is still too little. Changed my damage on a Longsword(Purple) from 1330 to 950 damage. I feel like around 200-300 damage would be a good balance at max level, you won't one shot anything and still do some good damage aginst Volitiles. Just my opinion.

After some more testing and checking the traders the damage reduction seems good balanced. Orange 1hand weapons are around 500 damage without modification, so i think it's good balanced now. I just had a heavy modification on my purple longsword, can just ignore using it to balance it out.

ok cool, thanks for the feeback appreciate it! Ya these are all base damages, so any kind of upgrades will change that, if the base seems balanced well, then that's a good start at least.
