So, a classic mod idea for Dead Island, makes a return for Dying Light.

Unlike Dead Island version however, in this one you can still kill zombies by hitting them in the torso. This is done to keep some special death animations/effects intact (splitting them in two), and also hitting them in the head with some weapons (Knives, Claws & 2-handed heavy weapons) is a bit harder than you'd expect.

I can make it easier for players to chop their limbs, depending on the input. As said in the description, Damage Normalization is recommended, as vanilla damage values are still off the roof.

    Anyway, have fun

Hey Lyr thanks for this gonna try it right now hopefully it will work with Survivor. Are you guys still working together?

Edit: Tried the mod, so far so good, I'm using survivor the version which still has damage normalization from you and works perfectly. One thing though. The bitters that wear like body armor and have knee pads take too many hits to the head before going down, I counted between 5 and 7 with and orange weapon (single handed, plain weapon I don't use elemental upgrades).
Another thing is can you move up the torso hit box a bit? I mean cause you said hitting the torso will eventually kill them but I'm hitting the legs and somehow they still die before loosing the legs (this doesn't happen too often maybe 4 out 10 zombies I killed)

-I don't know if we can even move the hitboxes. Maybe it is related to one of files but it's definitely not the files we are looking at.
-If you cut 3 limbs, they'll die instantly. Perhaps this is what you're experiencing? Other than that, I'm unsure if limbs that stay intact count as torso. It shouldn't, so my money is on my first guess.
-About the armored zombies (Rais Zombies, I call them, they're zombified Rais' Thugs, right?), I only altered a few values, which doesn't alter anything directly on Rais Zombies that'd result in such an effect; they are that strong even without this mod. Charge attacks do wonders though.

About Survivor, Shockr does his own thing. We exchange ideas, etc... I don't directly work on Survivor myself.

I see, you might be right about the 3 limbs but so far the mod does what is meant to, at least with guns it is, problem is that some swings with the melee weapons are random and hit the torso a lot specially on bigger weapons.

As always love your mods man, keep up the good work, you got my endorse

      Thanks for the endorse mate.

And yeah, as I've said in sticky post, I noticed that the hitzone of 2-handers is a little bit off, or bigger than intended. As usual, I tested the mod for an hour or so before releasing it. And the reason you can still kill by hitting the torso is just that; some weapon types have hard time hitting the head.

Jump-attack does wonders with 2-handed weapons though, as you do an overhead chop, it usually connects to their head. Ground pound is already meh without any mods, but whirlwind gets nerfed with this mod. I may increase the damage of whirlwind for this mod, but I don't want to do that unless it is absolutely necessary. On that 1-hour test, I relied much more on the agility/power skills than usual, I was doing a whildwind and quickly finishing them off afterwards. It felt somewhat OK; you know, since those weapons have a lot of power, you feel that as zombies fly around you

      Anyway, thanks again mate.

Hey Lyr how has your experience been with this mod on Hard Mode? To me is already pretty hard cause I have Survivor on top, maybe adding this to hard mode+Survivor= Nightmare mode? XD

I usually slashed my way through a horde, but now I take a breath, and pick my targets carefully. Whenever I have the opportunity, I stun & takedown, nagewaza + stomp, and so on... stuff that I didn't bother that much before, now is in the mix I downgraded my damage normalization to 75% though; 82.5% was too much with this mod for me.
