Other crashes are caused by incompatible overlays, such as Medal.tv, Rivatuner, etc...
Newest update may cause unexpected changes to something like ReShade, you may need to move all of your ReShade shaders inside of the "_storage_" folder inside of the game folder. This is just a side effect of how REFramework works around the crashes caused by proxy DLLs.
New update came out today. Game literally won't load my save past the half way point. This new update definitely did something. But I don't know what needs to be updated to fix this as I literally cannot load my save and play anymore. I'll keep this comment updated and let you know which mod(s) are the issue.
EDIT: Magic Over haul mod needs to be updated. Doesn't allow the game to load your save with it.
Its definitely REFramework. I uninstalled all mods (Except this) and it crashed. As soon as I completely uninstalled REFRamework, it ran fine. Just gotta wait for an update.
game's launching fine. Just verify game files. First go into your DD2 directory and delete re_chunk_000.pak.patch_003.pak. That's the newest update. And then uninstall all your mods in fluffy, then verify game files in steam, it will redownload that file. Then reinstall all your mods. Should work normally then.
Spoke too soon. It crashes at the same spot in the Volcanic Island Region with REFramework installed (Both versions). Uninstalling it prevents the crash.
Where in the Volcanic Islands? After uninstalling Magic Overhaul, everything's working fine for me so far (thanks Zowbaid). I can try the same spot on the island and see if it crashes for me.
Oh, so maybe this is a separate "Crashing" related issue that would need a patch from REFramework? The thing is I've never had crashes there before the title update. You mean it only started crashing for you guys there just now after the update?
I've now been all over the island, including both paths to the island. I didn't experience any crashes. Could be another mod, or maybe a strange interaction with some quest that I haven't yet started (I'm on a NG+ playthrough). There's no telling. But, I didn't crash.
For reference, I'm running version 1.5.4 of the mod, build date April 7. I haven't updated, because apart from the very occasional start-up crash that was fixed in a later version, the April 7 version has been working fine for me.
Magic Overhaul only prevents the game from loading. For crashes though? Don't know what's causing that. Do you have the latest _ScriptCore installed as well? I feel like Reframework and Scriptcore go hand in hand. need both updated all the time for best effect. I've never gotten crashes from just exploring the overworld like you guys are describing. I'm always crashing because of a mod mechanic or hotkey or something, not because of regular exploration.
Oh that mod...yeah, it even persists across your save even after you uninstall it. It's....not a very well optimized mod. The fact that it can persist a save can botch your playthrough. Happened to me and lost several hours worth of gameplay cuz of it's crashes and glitches. I'm weary of touching that mod now. ESPECIALLY if you're crashing at a specific spot in the game, most likely that mod's fault.
Found my issue. Higher Portcrystal limit was persisting even when toggled off. It couldn't run without REF so that explains why uninstalling REF was working. That mod was updated and now im not crashing.
Last time I saved was on Volcanic Island, now my save is stuck on halfway and wont go past. I uninstalled REF and still can't load past halfway
Edit: Solution is to turn off all mods, take dinput8.dll out of your root folder and launch then load game. after game loads, turn off game and reload all mods and put dinput8.dll back in folder and the game will load correctly..
Magic Overhaul's been updated now. If you're still only loading halfway with that then you have some other mod causing issues. Not sure what it could be as with my pretty big modlist, I had no other issues. You'll have to disable them all and run the game first to see if it launches, then start enabling them in batches and launch to see where it stops working, til you find the mod that's causing it. Report it here when you find out what it is, so others can benefit.
Here’s a really weird one tho, i unninstalled all mods on fluffy and moved dinput off the game directory and tried to load my save file and its still stuck at 50% :(
My game crashes specifically when I try to cross the bridge leaving out of Nameless Village, where there's an cyclops on the other side. I thought my game was messed up and wouldn't work but, when I go elsewhere the game runs fine lol.
Latest nightly version still crashes my game. Been able to play for ~2 hours or so without issues. After that the crashes started and now my game crashes every few minutes again. Before using the framework I reached level 98 with my previous character and my game only crashed once in a while in menus.
With the framework the game becomes unplayable after a while. Uninstalling it didn't fix it. Had to reinstall the whole game. Now it works fine again. No crashes so far. Not sure if the framework corrupts some game files or something to cause this. But its still unusable for me.
I've gone back to the old version. All my mods had errors with the new version. And for some reason, my game started up as if I were launching it for the 1st time, so I had to set everything up as before, but I had no problems saving.
im getting warning from my browser that the file is suspicious (nightly 878 ), i havent got that warning in any other version or any other mod from nexus, is it a false warning?

Users can also try the nightly (latest) version until I release it here: https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases/
Please read the instructions for reporting crashes so I can resolve issues that come up: https://cursey.github.io/reframework-book/#reporting-a-bug, just saying it crashes does not help me.

PS. Nevermind, first time it opens by itself and you can assign another key from Configuration Menu
