This seems to work great for me through normal game (not sure why others said it doesn't work on companions, it does for me, just not in Winter palace which is explained in the description). However, in Trespasser, it makes the inquisitor invisible lol, even with armor on. It makes for some amusing cutscenes lol.
I love this mod. I don't know who picked out the outfits for this ball, but they really need to consult a fashion expert next time. Thank you so much <3
Is this supposed to work for the companions during the quest? Or just after? Either way, wonderful idea, nothing like going to the ball in my pajamas. :3
The one on yoru companions during the quest is a non-wearable version. So your companions still have formal attire on at the ball, but the wearable version (The one the player uses and can create) is invisible.
Ah, I see. I don't suppose there is a way to make the formal wear invisible on the companions as well? Not that its that big of a deal, the importan thing is for the Inquisitor to be out of the nutcracker uniform, so I do love this mod quite a lot.
Originally, I was going to make the texture invisible, but that broke the companion armors at the ball (They became floating heads). So this approach, where I don't mess with the textures but simply remove the wearable version's model data from the game works much better.
The readme explains what I did. And yes... all I did was turn the formal wear invisible. The secret is that the game has everyone wearing their default pajamas under their armor at all times, even when you put other armor on. You might have noticed Darian's default outfit poking through some of the mage armors the game provides. So by embracing the invisibility bug, and making the formal wear invisible, you get the PC and party members wearing their pajamas.... which looks better IMO than the formal wear.
The mod tools have come a long way. They are getting ready to release a version that supports mesh import/export here:
So I suspect we will see a lot more mods in the coming weeks. But this mod may still remain useful for a while. Creating armors that work on all classes will still be a challenge, even when the tools allow mesh editing.
Oooh. I tried changing the default PJs themselves. Ended up with a floating head, no matter what I did. So, apparently still no way around that. Oh well.
Hadn't seen the news about the mod tools yet, thanks.

Is it possible to make a separate version just for solas' helmet?
If I'll never have to see that thing again, it'll be too soon.
Never liked the looks of the formal attire much, no matter with or without mods.
May I ask how you did it? I've been trying my hand at mesh and appearance manipulation and the most success I had was turning stuff invisible.

The formal wear really looks ridiculous...
