About this mod

This mod allows the Dwarf character to be a Mage by choosing the option in CC and to be referenced as such, the new version now makes them a mage fully. They now use magic barriers and staves without having to use extra mods to do so. This does mean they can no longer lockpick like other mages.

What is this mod?

This mod allows the Dwarf character to be a Mage by choosing the option in CC and to be referenced as such,
the new version now makes them a mage fully. They now use magic barriers and staves
without having to use extra mods to do so. This does mean they can no longer lockpick like other mages.

New Playthrough advised if you want them referenced as mages.
When you get to Class choice when making New Game pick the Mage icon.
One you've picked all your options where it shows the 4 Tarot Cards the mage icon will be blacked out.
Do not worry it is working just the texture doesn't work here for some reason.
Though sometimes they get referred to as dwarves above mages.

Why make this mod? and Why call it Mage Origin and not Mage Class?

I call this Mod Dwarf Mage Origin and Not Dwarf Mage Class because of my headcanon behind the mod.
Because I had some head canons around what the mark could essentially make possible for the dwarven Inquisitor.

Dwarves aren't supposed to dream, yet Inquisitor Cadash can due to receiving the mark, so I thought if that was possible when it wasn't before then surely the same could be said of magic. After all the mark is a direct link to the fade. Whether both the magic and dreams would go once the mark is removed is another thing entirely. Maybe it would or maybe by then it would be so ingrained in them that they wouldn't lose it.

So that is why I call it Dwarf Mage Origin, because my idea is they became a mage after receiving the mark. Hence making it their origin story as a Dwarf Mage

Compatibility

Requires Frosty Suite Mod Manager

The new version is not compatible with any mods that edit ItemPartAppearance files,
as such I will be making compatible ones for those who want to use
mesh swap mods in other slots such as Prologue as Skyhold outfit and such.

Texture mods and hair edits, and bundle swaps are compatible.

Anything that edits the dwarf rogue files are not compatible.

This edits the Dwarf Rogue file so do not have this loaded for your Rogue saves.
Also not compatible with any mods that edit that same file.

Thanks
Thank you KittenTails for making the no class or race restrictions mod, it helped finalize the original version of this mod.
