It's been years since you've posted this, but if you're still on the Nexus and checking these mods, I just wanted to share how much I LOVE this mod and your entire Faction Recolors collection! I've used your Amethyst, Emerald, and Monochrome versions and all of them are exceptionally beautiful in game. Thanks so much for all of the work you did on this collection! It has made for several exceptional playthroughs.

    ?
I have the faction coat and outwear mods, but only part of it is showing up at Skyhold.  What am I doing wrong?  Thank you for any help you can give.  Love what you did with the mod.

I reordered the mods and forced these two to be last and it is fixed!

I don't use frosty, sorry! If someone wants to convert my files, that's fine, so long as I get credit.

Just so I understand and install the correct items, if I install your updated Faction Armoury file (which you say includes ALL of the gender and race and armor parts etc) do I still need to install the outerwear or coat or scale mail mod files? I'm just confused is all, and wanna make sure I do it right because this mod looks so good!!

Outerwear and scale mail, yes. Coat, no. The coat mod is included in the Faction Armory file but anything you wear under the armors is separate. You can choose ANY outerwear, scale mail or PJ texture, not just mine, but of course it won't look exactly the same as in the pictures! The Armory file retextures everything that goes on OVER those underarmors, but it doesn't touch the underarmors themselves. Does that make sense?

You can see this demonstrated in the last uploaded image on my Gold Floral Armory page, which is a different retexture of the same file. It shows the same armor with two different PJ mods and two different Outerwear mods. Faction Armory does the same thing. https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/2411

Would this possibly cause a conflict with Svarty's Configurable Armors? It seems after I purchase the recipe, and try to go into crafting, all my companions are locked into viewing whatever they have currently on, and the game freezes a few seconds later after running around Haven. Not sure what is causing this, so trying to figure it out. I also presume it would clash with the Silver Dragonfly PJ mod, right?

Like I said on the other mod, this mod only touches armor textures, not schematics or crafting. So in theory, no, they should not conflict. However, DAI modding is weird, so there might be a conflict that isn't obvious somehow, or it could just be that you have too many mods running, or something else entirely.

As for the Silver Dragonfly mod, no, nothing that is posted on this page should conflict with that! I don't currently have Faction PJs for HF or EF posted, and those would be the only parts of this collection that would conflict. You should be able to wear any of these mods with any HF or EF PJ mod, so long as it doesn't also contain edits to the armors or outerwear within it. I'd imagine the monochrome version of Faction Coat or Faction Armor would look great with Silver Dragonfly - if you try it, please upload screenshots!

Looks great - can't wait until I start DAI on the computer and get to play around with this :)

Question: I know there's a way to have the Inquisitor wear something different from the rest of the Inquisition members at the ball. But is there a way to have the advisors/companions in different formal wear? For example, have the three companions in the normal Faction Formalwear and the three advisors in the slightly fancier Exquisition Formalwear? Thanks

I actually looked into this a few years ago! And the answer is no, there is not.

This is due to the way the files are structured and the limitations of modding. There is only one Formalwear texture in the game, and all instances point to that single texture. Right now, there is no way to add extra assets to the game. You can only replace existing assets. Since there's only one formalwear texture, you can only replace it with a different one, you can't have two different characters be wearing two different textures.

Maybe someday someone will figure out a clever workaround to make this happen, but as it stands right now, not possible. Sorry.

Didn't think so, but figured it didn't hurt to ask. Too bad it's not possible to change the specific companions formal wear like you can for the Inquisitor. Thanks :)

This mod is incredible. Paired with faction recolors, I now love the way the world looks. Unfortunately, I can't get the coat to work. No matter what I try, the game won't launch, or if it does launch, my character is invisible and somehow in the floor. I'm guessing somewhere I have a mod conflict, but for the life of me I can't figure it out, since most of my mods are companion retextures or hair/face mods. Oh well. Maybe I'll isolate the problem eventually. Everything else works great! Thanks for the lovely mod.

Huh, that's weird. Have you only tried it in Skyhold, or have you tried loading a save that's somewhere that doesn't have as much to load up, like, idk, Val Royeaux or something? The coat retexture is very large (I doubled the size so the details will looks sharp) so I'm wondering if your game is just having trouble loading it bc it's heavy? It shouldn't conflict with any existing mod I know of except Gilded Arms and Elegant Inquisitor's Coat, both by hoarous. I haven't seen any other mods that affect that particular texture.

Also, I should ask what color of coat you're using, and what the gender/race of your Inquisitor is. I tested the coat on HM, EF and EM, but I don't have a save for every race/gender so I didn't test it on everyone. In THEORY it should work just fine, but...

I'm planning to do an update of the mod soon, once I finish all the ports and everything. I'll upload a lighter version of the coat then. Maybe that will solve the issue.

**EDIT - I uploaded a lighter (smaller file size) version of the coat! Give that a shot and see if it works~

Tried the new file and the game loaded, but my character was invisible... and the ground had vanished. Which really does not make any sense, since a retex should in no way affect the floor. Ah well. Thanks for getting back to me, anyway. I can still use all the rest of your stuff, so not being able to make the coat work isn't the end of the world. Just wish I knew what was causing it! Such a strange glitch.

Tried the textures by hoarous just to see if they worked either, and they did the same damn thing. So either I somehow have a conflicting mod, or my computer just can't handle coat retextures for some reason. Either way, the problem is clearly on my end. Thanks for trying to help!

That's real frustrating. The fact that the floor isn't loading makes me think it's a graphics memory issue - have you checked your graphics card drivers are up to date? I've found that armors strain the system more than other items, maybe it's something in how the system reads them or how they are animated.

You could also try downloading the new Faction Armory mod instead. It includes the same coat texture and somehow is much smaller than the coat-only mod, despite affecting more textures. (I have no clue why, I'll have to go dig into my files and find out.)

I'm late to the party, but just wanted to add that invisible characters/floors and getting stuck inside the floor is a really common problem that some people are having with mods that alter companions. It seems to be especially bad in Haven. I'm wondering if that might be the problem. I had a similar issue when I tried to run a Dorian tattoo mod with this and some other armor mods.

I adore this mod, and thought I'd let people know it works fine with the JoH DLC (haven't tried Descent yet so can't say anything there), and in regards for Trespasser, so far, the only part of this mod I've had trouble with (in the game locks up in a black loading screen and has to be forced down manner) is the formal wear mod.

Regrettable, but at least I still have the lovely armory, outerwear & pj mods to enjoy.

Thank you so much for this information. I hadn't tested this in the DLCs so this is great to know!

Also, I love your icon - your Trevelyan looks so sharp!

I love the design of this mod(tintable versions), but the lightning doesnt help, looks very awful, the speculars doesnt work good and the shadows and light over the armor seems off, is just me? or my graphic config?, i want to use it badly, but the light over the coat looks really bad.

Edit:aah My Inqui looks so damn good that i dont want to deinstall the mod, looks so badass. Just keep in mind the speculars...if you may/want, ultra recommended mod, thanks for this!

I darkened the spec on all of these because I personally liked the way it looked better. If more people are interested I might consider releasing a version with a spec closer to vanilla. Considering this took me literally weeks to create and it hasn't gotten much of a response, I'm not sure I can take the time to create an entire new version for one person right now.

Also, this comment really upset me, just so you know. I had to take a few days to calm down so I didn't say something rude. I worked hard on this, and you are not obligated to use it; if you don't like the spec then don't use it. Don't call people's work awful because you don't like their artistic choices.

Heeey! I love this mod... Finnaly a Pj for my Male mage that fits his personality... Could you do something similar with the armors (the one with the buttflaps)??

I actually was already planning to try that!! I'll have to dig out the textures, but I do really love the cropped jackets so I'd love to try my hand at retexturing them. I was thinking about experimenting with the Warden armors, too. (And my main playthrough is HM so... yeah I understand the lack of options lol.) But I do need to finish porting the existing Outerwear and PJ retex to the other race/gender combos first, and my free time is limited, so it might be a while!

Hey, I don't know if you happened to see, but I uploaded a Faction Armory mod that changes the coat, the buttflap armors, the heavy armors, and all of the arms and legs that go with them! Check it out~
