Gives Fenris darker skin with a less shiny/plasticky look, an HD face texture, and an HD armor texture.

The main mod is an all-in-one package that is not compatible with any other mods that change his face or armor. There are, however, optional files available that are made to work with other mods, including a standalone skin tint map (to darken his skin when using his original armor texture or other modders' retextures of his armor) a standalone specular map (to make his skin less shiny) and alternate hairstyles. See the "NOTES" section of this page for more details on those.

To install, extract the .erf file(s) into your override folder.

CREDITS

The HD face texture is Ellise's work, from Unique Face Textures for Companions. The HD armor textures are from Ellise's HR Fenris Armor, with edits done by me. The tint map is my own work and may be used in other mods so long as credit is given.

The pictures for the new version of the mod were taken while using KH's Softer Hair and Beard for DA2, you'll need that mod for his hair to look the same.

REQUIREMENTS

KS Hairs for DA2 - Elven Edition -- only if you want to use one of the alternative hairstyles from the KS hairs pack.

NOTES

UPDATE SEPT 3 2024! -- This mod has been remade: the default version no longer uses the skin tint map. Instead I have directly edited Ellise's HD armor texture to get a somewhat better match to his facial skin tone. The old version is still available in the optional files (make sure to snag the standalone specular map to go with it if you want your Fenris de-shined.)

The standalone tint map can be used with Fenris' vanilla armor texture or with other modders' retextures of it to darken his skin without having to manually edit any textures. The tint map works by pulling information about Fenris' skin color from his face morph file, so it won't really do anything unless you also install a face morph with a new skin tone.

The de-shining specular map is also available as a standalone file. It can be used together with the standalone face morphs and standalone tint map. It can also be used with other retextures of Fenris' body, though if the retexture you use has drastically different colors than the original texture, the color of the shine on his armor may be mismatched. Not needed if you use the NEW main file, it's already included in that.

Face morphs to give Fenris alternate hairstyles are split into two packs in the optional files section, one for KS Hairs styles and one for base game elf hairstyles. The base game hair pack also includes a face morph with his default hairstyle. Pictures of the other hairstyles are included in each hairstyle pack. All of these face morphs give him a darker facial skin tone and include Ellise's HD face textures. They can be used together with the standalone skin tint map to give Fenris darker skin on the rest of his body when using other modders' retextures of his armor.

The face morphs from the hairstyle packs will take priority in-game over the face morph included in my all-in-one file, so if you want to use my mod but prefer a hairstyle other than the default, simply download that style's file + the main file and chuck them both in your override for a no-fuss experience.

ON LOAD ORDER: If you need any of my modular files to override the changes made by another mod--for example, if you want to use my specular map with another armor retexture that includes its own specular map--rename the .erf file with the desired changes so that its name comes later in alphabetical order than the other mod's name.

COMPATIBILITY

Both of the all-in-one files, the standalone tint map, and the standalone specular map are incompatible with Fenris Lyrium Ghost Fix Ultimate and cannot/will not be made compatible with it.

The all-in-one files and the standalone tint map are incompatible with Diversified Follower Armors, but the standalone specular map should work okay with it.

The standalone tint map and standalone specular map will not work with mods that give Fenris a whole new armor model, such as Solas Clothing for Fenris.

Ellise's HR Fenris Armor includes an optional file for HD versions of Fenris' romance favors ("Hawke's Favor HR.erf") that is compatible with but not included in this mod, as it also edits Isabela's favor. Personally, I do recommend grabbing it.
