Notice: Bad news, I think I might stop adding/updating mods on Nexus. The new colour theme direction Nexus is going is murder on my eyes, so my high activity to help with troubleshooting and providing more mods just won't be possible. The high contrast will just be too much eye strain. Sorry guys. I am debating on finishing up my last project or not, or migrating to another modding site.
Nexus closed the top beta concerns thread on the feedback board and locked the beta feedback posts, including one I had made. They are shutting down anyway for people to give feedback on the top issues (one they reconsidered after some backlash on the feedback board).
I am done. Unless more/other people complain (aka enough backlash), they clearly just don't want to hear it from me specifically, I see no reason to stay on the site. For now I am just going to lock all comments sections since I will not be providing any more troubleshooting as long as Nexus plans to implement this high contrast theme. I can just move on to other projects and sites. I may remove all my mods off nexus eventually too. Sorry to disappoint everyone but I am very disappointed and disheartened at nexus, this is no longer a place that brings me joy.
It was extra files clean up, I accidentally had unneeded files that shouldn't bare any changes. You can either not download, or delete old download and download new one with less files.
You have to have it before you leave the fade. The script changes keep them from being removed. Unless you manually re-add them via console, then they will show in the book with the mod.
Yeah, I noticed it was an asked for mod in the past, and I didn't see a mod that let you keep the shapeshifting, so I figured better late than never XD
About that weird faced golem, I just used console command to revert back to original appearance:
Console Command Used: runscript appearance -1
If you've been changing appearances a lot and use this command, it'll revert to previous appearance. Just do it again to get your original back (i.e.- "runscript appearance -1" (enter), then again "runscript appearance -1")
**Edit- I re-read my post and it sounded a bit confusing.. so here's another example: - I kill an enemy, then resurrect them. - I select that "Animated Blah Blah", use command: runscript appearance 75 (LADY_OF_THE_FOREST) [a favorite] OR: 72 (PRIDE_DEMON) [too big; can't walk through doors] OR: 24 (DESIRE_DEMON) OR: 22 (WEREWOLF_A) OR: 90 (UNDEAD MAGE) OR: 53 (WITHERFANG) [a favorite] OR: 74 (WOLF_BLIGHT) OR: 80 (DRAGON_DRAKE) [can't walk through doors] OR: 66 (DRAGON_HIGH) [HUGE; can't walk through doors] OR: 89 (ARCHDEMON) [HUGE; can't walk through doors] OR: 86 (CHICKEN) [I turn Shale into a chicken for fun!!]
Some appearances are bugged and won't show appropriately, but if you summon an animal with the Ranger Skill, they work perfectly. Add summoning animals to any character (stays on quickbar: 1st slot; adjust icons to keep it) runscript addtalent 1004; Summon Wolf runscript addtalent 91; Summon Bear runscript addtalent 93; Summon Spider runscript addtalent 92; Master Ranger
Those are some of my fav's (more appearance codes can be found here: https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Model_ID_codes_(Origins)
If you change your appearance a few times then try to go back to original using command, it'll revert to the previous appearance. That's why you have to do the command again to get the original.
*****Also, I use the mod: Allow Permanent Summons-Summons Persist Across Loadscrns found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/418/
The only problem is, when you shapeshift, your quickbar reset's along with skills/talents, so your summon dies (don't get attached).
I was wondering (recently) if it was a custom/appearance change thing. I had to revert to original appearance last run through because my shapeshifting went insane (arcane horror explosion), then just re-added it after finished the fade.
Dunno bud... but I love the idea of your mod. I am about to use it now, but what I was really looking for was to keep the "fade quickbar." You know, the quickbar that has the 4 transformations easily accessible. Wasn't sure if i'd be able to customize that bar for different spells, but I thought it'd be cool.
But I did find an alternate: Advanced Quickbar https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/706
It gives you access to 4 quickbars... dunno how confusing that's gonna be, but Imma try it out. :P
Well, I mostly made this mod to fast track the fade, the keep shapeshifting came afterwards. I have become more versed in scripting since. I could look into keeping the the quick access menu, but I worry it will conflict with climax/armies bar.
This is nice just downloading now so I can endorse. Could you also do a "standalone" optional file which only lets you keep the forms and bonus (the one I'd prefer to use): Standalone keep forms but only if you are a mage specialized in shapeshifter?
Would be so great to give the underused shapeshifters a nice boon ;)
I hate the back and forth required in the fade but I do actually like parts of the fade journey itself. This results in me constantly switching between skipping the fade and feeling like I missed something important or properly going through the whole thing and feeling frustrated. Both leave me with regrets. This removes the frustration without removing the gameplay parts I like. Thank you for saving my next playthrough of Origins!
I feel the same, I mean I was getting pretty pro at the back and forth but then I discovered console and decided for giggles to try with cheats and just add them at the start. I loved it! but wanted it by default/override instead of running scripts via console each playthrough.

I keep becoming a weird-faced golem when I go back to normal, but so far it always passed somehow :D
