Hiya, in your reference picture "playing nice with different complexions" the version titled "Kani Hime's textures" looks fantastic, I would love to use those textures myself with this mod but the only complexion mod I can find by KaniHime is the "Vanilla Face Texture Replacer" one on her blog and the link is broken, is that the same one shown here and if so do you know where else I can find it/do you still have the files?

Hi! I was wondering if you could point in the the right direction of fixing an issue I've encountered after installing the mod. The pigments and textures look amazing, but the back of my characters head - just behind the ears - (where the the hair mod I'm using meets the new skin tones) has a a lighter colour. I'm not too technical, and I know this is something I've probably got to use the toolset to fix, so I was wondering if you had any idea what files I had to address for this. I think it's something to do with with the scalp (?) I'm using The Hairald of Andraste hair mod.

Hmm, are you sure that only happens with this mod? Because (guessing a bit without a screenshot, if you could pm me one if I'm off target that would be great) it sounds like it could be the "white scalp issue", which happens when you use a hair tint that has its "t3" prefix changed to something else, like the modder's initials. Notable culprits include pineappletree's vibrant tints, barnzi's lovely tints, jaylo's extra tints, and chingshih's hair tints. Basically the scalp stubble goes bright white in game due to the corresponding stubble tint not being found, which can end up visible under the hair. I can give you instructions to fix it if that sounds like the issue!

Hmm, that doesn't look like the "white scalp issue" - if it was, the scalp stubble itself would be bright white rather than the whole scalp. Currently I can think of two possibilities:

      a) The head has a missing tattoo texture. This makes the tattoo colour apply over the whole face or scalp but not the other, which makes them appear as different colours. I've seen this happen before when headmorph artists use a tattoo for moles or freckles but either forgot to link to it or the user forgot to download it. You can test for a missing face tattoo by dragging the tattoo slider and seeing if the issue resolves when a tattoo is properly visible. (If it is that, you'll need to find and download the missing tattoo file.)

      or

      b) You have a normals texture for the scalp that is incorrect, making the scalp look like it's lit differently to the head. You can run a search in your override for the file "pn_har_blda_0n.dds" and delete it if you do have one (make sure it's 0n at the end and not 0d (the diffuse colour) or 0t (part of this mod), as you won't want to delete those files).

I am also having this issue, i've tried removing pn_har_blda_0n.dds from the hairald of andraste, I've tried removing all mors, skin tints etc, the only thing which completely eliminates the issue is removing this mod. I also have the same issue if I install sjc patchy skin fix. I mean it's not the end of the world, this is a fantastic mod which is a must have since I've discovered it but the perfectionist in me would love to get to the bottom of it! Any ideas?

It's most prominent on characters with short hair or who are bald.

https://i.postimg.cc/k5sYR8qJ/realpigment2.jpg - with real pigment fix installed

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Edit: It seems like people were having a similar problem with your other mod 'HQ Eyebrow Stubble and Scalp Hair Replacers' which I also use and am a fan of! Maybe, they're also using this mod as well, seeing as though they're already using your other mod and wrongly assumed it was that mod causing this issue? However, I removed that file and saw no change, narrowing down my issue to this mod.

You're right that that does look like a tint difference - thank you for providing before/after pictures! I'm wondering if the scalp tint map has either been deleted or never downloaded (ie if a makeup compatibility file was downloaded but not a main file too), or if there's another scalp tint map in your override that's replacing the one from this mod.

If you search your override for the file "pn_har_blda_0t.dds" (that's a T at the end this time rather than an N), there should be one copy and it should be from this mod - if you don't have one, you'll need the scalp files (there's three, one for each LOD) from one of the main downloads, and if you have an extra one from another mod you'd need to delete that one in case it's overriding the one from this mod. Let me know if that turns anything up (or not)!

You're a genius, I'm so happy I contacted you - you're right, there was duplicate of that file in the hairalde of andraste and removing it solved the issue completely. Thanks for your quick and informative response - definitely a top tier mod author!

I cannot thank you enough for this mod. It's one of the best, if not the best cosmetic mod for DA:O. Everyone looks so good now!
