Thank you for your interest in the mod!

I'm finished modding DOA. I have enjoyed my time modding and with the community here but it is time for me to move on. The readme should answer any questions and help avoid any problems with the mod.

Thank you again for your interest and I hope that you enjoy the mod and it adds to your game. :D

Amazing how such a little mod can add so much! I really love the little expressions on both Alistair and Duncan; subtle emotion like that is hard to do well, and you nailed it! <3

Once upon a time, this mod worked for me. But now Alistair is invisible during the cutscene. And Duncan talks to empty space. There have been many playthroughs in a row.

As I recall, if something is invisible that generally means the game thinks it is there but it isn't. Like if it is loading a set of armor or weapon or whatever,  if it can't find it in the files then it skips it. You get naked people for example but if it finds the armor but just the textures are missing you get invisible stuff.

Is this on a new playthrough or on an old save? Added or removed any mods? Specifically armor or morphs, hairstyles, etc?

This problem has been happening for quite some time. I played the game many times during this time and Alistair was invisible during the cutscene. During all playthroughs, the set of mods didn't change.
I know about the problems with the armor since I understand a little about it. But I've never done cutscenes and have no idea what's going on there.
Just the other day, I completely reinstalled the game and mods, started a new playthrough. For Alistair, there is a mod «Thedosian Grey Wardens» that disguises him. And morph.

You're got a conflict somewhere. You can figure it out by process of elimination, make sure it plays without mods, then add mods in and see when he disappears and that's your problem. Have no idea why he'd show up in other cutscenes and not this one, they all have the same mechanics. Sorry I can't be of more help.

What kind of files can cause such a conflict? I have a lot of mods, I can't delete them one by one. It goes without saying that this is not cosmetics and armor. What files in mods should I pay attention to?

Cosmetics and armor. The mod obviously works and all it does is load Ali and Duncan base file with whatever armor weapons and morph you have for them and put them in the cutscene. So the problem is on your end. You might have two files trying to do the same thing (that can cause invisibility too) or some other conflict or maybe you did something to his base file and now the mod can't find it, idk.

Put him in a vanilla outfit and take out whatever morph you are using and see if she shows up. if so there is your problem, if not then you have a bigger issue. Some mod might have changed his base file to the point the mod can't find or load it. And I can't help you with that.

This feels like it's part of the base game, such a good job with the animations and expressions, so much emotion in a short scene - it's perfect. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you!!! One of my goals in all my mods is to make them feel like they belong in the game, both style and content-wise. The best mods make you forget they aren't part of the game. And I do love making people cry... in a good way of course! ;)

      Thanks for the comment!

Thank you so much for this lovely mod. I've had it in my game for a couple of years already and it is always lovely (and sad) to see. I get all emotional about Alistair and Duncan's relationship, so this means a lot.

      You're welcome!!!

I know, me too. I remember first playing the game and initially thinking that their relationship was all in Alistair's head, part of his desperate longing for a father figure, but then as the story went on realizing that it really did go both ways. I also think that the game could have done a bit better job showing that and laying better groundwork for Alistair's reactions and this is my small way of doing that!!!

      Thanks for the comment!

So I find that it doesn't work with the following mods: Sabre Clan farewell, Non-circle mage - which both use the same file - so to make this mod work then remove or disable the above mods, play the cutscene and then reactivate the other mods - I test this out and now it works - save game after the cutscene and replace the two mods back into your override folder - I marked the folders with a different icon so I know which are to be removed and replaced for each character I create - Enjoy the game :)

Unfortunately, I have no idea. I don't know what is involved or anything about it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Wonderful! That moment was definitely lacking in the vanilla game. A simple, short cutscene, that conveys so much emotion. Thank you! I can't imagine the game without it anymore ^_^

How i made this mod work? Everytime i make a new char and go to all the ostagar quests, and after talking to Duncan about the tower of ishtal, the scene never appear for me....

If the mod is installed correctly, it will play.

So either you didn't put it in the right place or you have a file that is conflicting. Make sure the mod is in your 'override' directory and there are no other copies of "pre100_duncan.dlb/g" in override.
