haven't tried it, but since a lot of people say it doesn't work and there's no response from the creator about whether it does or doesn't, it would be nice if it did work and if it would also be available for BepInEx. i love playing games set at night time, so reversing the day/night would be great. would really like to try it out.
Given that the mod hasn't changed in over a year, I think something changed with Windows/OS that caused the mod to not work. I'm having the same crash to desktop issue on other games like Destiny 2
Just putting a note out there for anyone in the future. MelonLoader gave me constant microstutters. Switching to BepInEx fixed them and the mod works perfect now. Thanks a lot to the creator. Nice to not be stuck in darkness every play session and the automatic backup saves is handy.
Thanks for your feedback! I have also encountered stutters sometimes, but I wasn't sure if it is a game itself or a MelonLoader. But anyways I prefer MelonLoader because it gives me a ready UI to change mod options on the runtime. So on my PC stutters were not a big price for this feature, especially with the game's slow gameplay.
Any chance you'd be able to make a version for BepInEx? I'm having trouble getting BepInEx.MelonLoader.Loader to work with the game, and all the other mods use BepInEx, so far. The lightning flashes make this unplayable for me, unfortunately...might just need to be patient, in the end. Still, I figured it can't hurt to ask! Thanks for reading ^^
I will try to port for BepInEx later, closer to the weekend. However I'm not sure if it will work or not. I have tried the latest Bleeding Edge and 6.0.0-pre.1 versions, but they both didn't want to load the 'sinai-dev/UnityExplorer' plugin. But maybe my plugin will work.
Oooh, good luck! I hope it works! But hey, if it doesn't, like I said...game just came out, modding's real new for it, so having patience is always good too! Thank you :D
You can try the 'DDVGameplayExtensionsBepInEx.zip' plugin version. However correct work is not guaranteed. Don't forget to set 'overrideLightningBrightness = true' option in the plugin's config. BepInEx for IL2CPP has raw builds and development manuals now. If you build plugin according to their docs it will not be loaded even.
Try this video (not mine): https://youtu.be/drjNPltfQ_I It seems to be in the folder: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Gameloft\Disney Dreamlight Valley\microsoft_[NUMBERS]_r There is one trick which is not mentioned in the video. You can enter "AppData" right in the Explorer address bar as you do such thing in your internet browser. It eliminates switching "show hidden files" Explorer's option.
