1. -lock cast speed per spell -make the sage ring an attunement slot bonus ring (and make the +1 version available in NG) -make the deep/darkmoon ring a dark magic damage boost a la witch ring et all
2. -up spell damage by about 30% across the board -greatly decrease the bonus of the pyro/miracle/magic ring so they are actually a bonus rather than a necessity, maybe something like 4%/8%
The second idea seems more desirable. One of the biggest problems with magic in DS3 is that dedicated users are locked into essentially a single setup for whichever magic type they want to use, and decreasing the necessity of using certain rings would certainly alleviate that problem.
I've actually pushed both changes to my test file and yeah 2. seems without drawback to me, a nice bonus but still one I'm willing to forgo if any other ring would be better in slot. Although 1. doesn't feel too bad either, cast speed bonus being pretty trash in this game I don't mind seeing it gone.
Although now that I think about it a nice "vanilla" way to do it would be to push change 2. and keep saint/darkmoon ring as attunement bonus ring and make deep ring the superior dark spell damage bonus ring. You get it early but since dark spells aren't legion in the early game it wouldn't mess with the PvE balance much.

Although I still may be changing sage ring in the future, maybe something like increased max fp or something similar.
