Hello, thanks for the preset, it's quite subtle changes/improvements, but boosts visual quality in a nice way, respecting the original (awesome) game art. Good work!
I have one doubt, though, I can't figure out how to activate the DoF. When I check the preset with SHIFT+F2, all seems good (your untouched default presets).
Problem is, I can't see DoF changes at all (not even the problem you mentioned in the main menu).
Do I need to switch off the game's default one like in DS2? - tried Or shall I keep it activated? If activated, at what quality? - tried
If you know what could cause this issue, it would be great.
Hi, sorry for the really late answer, I have no idea why it won't work. Maybe a newer version of Reshade not compatible with the preset ? It's been a while now .. What I can say is you don't have to touch the in-game DoF, actually it can modify the bluriness further more according to the chosen setting but you can use whatever setting you want.
Hi, as said below this warning message is not a problem you can safely use the preset. As for the blur in the menu I warned about it too, it's a limitation of the game and is caused by the Depth of field. You can either deactivate the preset while you're navigating in the menus with your "scroll lock" button or you can entirely deactivate the effect as noted in the readme.
Anyway I'm gonna upload soon a reshade 3.0 version, it'll be easier.
hey i have one problem :v i am not speak inglish And may sound strange but this reshado not works I get this \DARK SOULS III\Game\Shader@0x000000000BF0FAF0(544,11: warning X3571: pow(f, e) will not work for negative f, use abs(f pls help me
I want to say that I like this ReShade, it's subtle and adds a lot in the game world, however in menus it's super strong. I am however aware you made a note about turning if off to read them better, and it's overall just a limitation of the game's engine. I am using the "No Darkness" version and can say that it works for the most part in the DLCs. I was concerned about a warning message from booting up the game:
...\DARK SOULS III\Game\Shader@0x000000000BF0FAF0(544,118): warning X3571: pow(f, e) will not work for negative f, use abs(f) or conditionally handle negative values if you expect them
Thanks for the feedback! Indeed the warning message isn't important, I think it comes from the DoF I'll check it out but it never caused me any visible problem.
Btw I'm trying to adapt the preset to Reshade 3.0, it works really well but it seems to be more demanding performance wise, I've no idea why .. I'm also doing some little tweaks and additions I tried MXAO and managed to have a nice and quite original setting but this shader too is very consuming. In some places I drop to 50 fps in 1440p (I usually play @60 fps in higher resolution), too bad but I don't think I'll use it :/
I play with it only since its release :o If it works in the menus then it works fine, I think the problem is on your side ..
That said, do you play in a particular resolution or ratio ? When I had a 16:10 display I remember I had lot of trouble with post-process on DS2 & 3, because they don't handle really well something else than 16/9, especially for effects that requires Depth Buffer like DoF or AO. I had to go to the nvidia panel config > display > setup size & position (or something like that) > and change the scaling (either the 1st or the 3rd option), maybe tick or untick the scaling in games & programs too (sorry I don't remember really well but just change your actual parameters) With this you should be able to play in a standard resolution like 1920*1080 even with a 16/10 display screen without a distorded image AND with post-process working.

Sorry, can't help you more :/

But other than that it works as expected.
