UPDATE: Now also for Reshade 3.0 !

1.0b is the exact equivalent of my preset for Reshade 2
1.1b is a little less dark and various little tweaks

Installation

Download the last version of Reshade (currently 3.0.7) here : http://reshade.me and follow the installation instructions.
Download & Install my preset in \steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game, where DarkSoulsIII.exe is. Don't forget to include the directory.

If you don't want the Depth of Field you can deactivate it with the Insert key.

Description

This is a rather subtle preset for those who want to stay close to the original feel of the game.
It took me hours to finetuning it, I think I'm finally done and ready to share it if anyone want to give it a try.

This preset adds in depth to the image and soften it, the lighting is more natural, and colors are a bit more vivid and feels less detached, it counterbalance the image that can be dull at times (like most mainstream games the brightness is set high to be able to be played in every conditions (tv with sunlight etc..))
The objective was to retrieve that part of mystery present on Dark Souls 1 where you can't really grasp what's in the distance and let your imagination do its job, so I added a better, closer and stronger Depth of Field (not a dynamic one unfortunately, it's bugged on DS3 :( ), and darkened the game a little bit, not too much either.

The added darkness and corrected brightness may require the torch for some places.

Screenshots probably don't give justice since the parameters are subtle and need to be viewed in fullscreen.
When not precised all screenshots are taken with the brightness lowered (0 or 1 in the settings of DS3)  and preset v1.0
Also sorry for the poor quality of the gifs but it should still give you a good idea, if someone have a solution to easily make comparative pictures without losing in quality ..

/!\There is only one slight issue to my knowledge : the interface and text can and will be blurry because of the DoF. You can temporarily deactivate the preset when navigating in the menus.

Also, don't hesitate to give feedbacks :D

Recommandations

Firstly you should correctly set the brightness of the game.
Chances are it isn't the case, go to the brightness setting of the game and set it to hardly see the dragon to the right, even if you have to
set it to 0
This alone does wonders and can be enough to your taste, even without using this preset.

If you want faster load times you don't need to pick every shader when installing Reshade : only select the effects listed at the end of the page.

Steam overlay works fine with it.
For performance issues : I play on a GTX 1070 in 2944*1656 at 60 steady fps so I don't really know if it'll perform well on more modest configurations but if you struggle you can try to deactivate Ambiant Light.

effects used :
1.1b:
-Tonemap
-HSV
-Ambiant Light
-Matso's DOF

optionnally SMAA, FXAA, AdaptiveSharpen & MXAO can be activated as well (MXAO need tuning but I'm not sure I'll use it because it's very consuming when downsampling and seems difficult to handle) but I don't use them at the moment for various reasons.

1.0b:
-Tonemap
-HSV
-LiftGammaGain
-Curves
-Ambiant Light
-Matso's DOF

1.0:
-LiftGammaGain, Tonemap, Curves, HSV for the balancing of colors
-Ambiant Light for better and more realistic lights
-Matso's DOF to replace the poor default one

changelog:
1.1b:
-little tweaks to colors, ambiant light & DoF
-brightened a little bit

Old installation with ReShade 2

Copy the ReShade directory, dxgi.dll and ReShade.fx in \steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III\Game, where DarkSoulsIII.exe is.

If you don't want the added darkness or the Depth of field I've added alternative files, you just have to pick the version of your choice AFTER having installed the main files. Enter one of the directory marked with "=== ===" and copy the "ReShade" directory into your "Game" directory, it should ask you to replace the files, click Ok.
You can use both settings at the same time, thus only having the recalibration of colors.

The yellow warning message at launch is 'normal' and not important.

Activate/deactivate : Scroll Lock
Take a screenshot : Print Screen, but Steam works as well

Uninstallation

Just delete dxgi.dll, ReShade.fx and the ReShade directory
