Hey man, I'm trying to install this mod, but after installing it and trying to run the game it crashes while the white screen is still loading. Any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?
Seems to happen regardless of whether I use the .bat file. As long as the "GameDataEBL" files from second in replace the ones from the original game, the game will keep crashing before the first screen loads :(
I recently found another way to install without the bat, you can unpack dark souls 2 with uxm, patch the game so that it launched using the unpacked data, then download second sin, copy all the files from the SotFSParam folder and paste them into the Param folder created by uxm, then just launch the game.
If you have not played it I would recommend you to wait a bit, Im working on a big update/modification thats going to change a lot more (progression inside zones, shortcuts, bonfires, some additions to boss arenas, certain key items will be moved, opening unused rooms etc)
Your .bat file made my entire computer stop and crash. It took me almost an hour to make it work properly again. The task manager said there were almost fifty svchost.exe services running on background and killing the computer memory.
As answers.microsoft.com says: "Svchost.exe is a process on the computer that hosts, or contains, other individual services that Windows uses to perform various functions. For example, Windows Defender uses a service that is hosted by a Svchost.exe process. And this type of behavior may indicate a difficulty or incompatibility with third-party programs, corrupted profile or even an infection by malicious programs, so I suggest you follow the procedures below."
I can run the game on ultra with 60 FPS, so it's not a computer performance problem.
Don't download this mod. Almost destroyed my computer. The performance is not as it was before i tried to install. The computer is still getting stuck even when i'm typing this message.
...so even though thousands of other users have downloaded the mod no problem, because you (supposedly) had this disastrous scenario, it's obviously the mod's fault, right? As opposed to the many thousands of things you could've done or had running on your computer that caused this? In fact, this very specifically sounds like you have malware on your computer that hijacks any unsecured command prompt you open to overload your system by opening its process ad infinitum. (One notable example of this is the "deja vu" virus)
the .bat is from Jgwman the one that made the map editor so cant really help you there maybe ask him but I have had no problems with it, I also have an already installed version of the mod on Google drive in the main page of the mod.
Seems like a cool mod, but the game crashes when I enter the crow nest in the forest of fallen giants to get to the bastille, after the cutscene ends and the loading screen should begin.
...To be fair, it could've something to do with me closing the .bat file the first time I launched it because it seemed stuck on the first line of code for like 2-3 minutes. I later launched it again and after waiting more time the second line of code appeared and I was like, "oh."
I'll try to repeat everythingif I don't get a response, but if there's some other known issue that there could be, I'd rather not load the backup and go through the whole process again.
Hello, I install the second sin mod in my DS2 Scoolar and I do not make any change in the game, you have to download something more as in the case of DS3 cinders
