    Scared to know what Tomb of the Giants is like. Unless it's the same. Also, how do you get Prepare to Die Edition? I can't buy it on Steam.

      Tomb of the Giants is objectively harder as well. But subjectively it will be much easier after all the other areas which you will have to "learn" for the first time.

      You can buy a key at different websites, they are rare, thereby pricy. Sorry about that.

    Does skull lantern help? Does it help with visibility outside of Tomb of the Giants?

      Depends on the area. If you tried to use it in tutorial you saw that It increases radius at the spawn room and decreases it near bonfire.

    I am gonna say f*#@ The Great Hollow, Blighttown, Oolacile Township, the first part of Demon Ruins... possibly somewhere else that I can't say the "f" word yet.

      Hi there.
      Are you talking theoretically or about your experience with my mod?

      In my mod I'm trying to tune difficulty in different ways, so the areas has approximately the same difficulty (taking into account normal game progression of course).
      Great Hollow is perfectly fine with default settings (if you know the layout). (But Ash lake on the other hand looks awful atm, it will be fixed in v0.5 very soon).
      For Blighttown I increased the view radius, mostly because slopes limit it too much. Also I add a bit sunlight to the swamp, at v0.2 it was too hard to find direction. Similarly I did it for Lost Izalith.
      Oolacile Township unfortunately has the same parameters as Manus fight, so it will be even brighter than I would like to. To be honest idk what can be a problem with completing it.

      I am talking about it theorectically, because I thought that go blind at The Great Hollow can be known as death sentence. I haven't played your mod yet (will play it soon :)) ), but this sounds promising. This can't be harder than The Scorched Contract mod (which I already completed it), can it?
      P/s: Experiencing the world after the flame dies will sure be interesting.

      Actually atm i'm doing a playthrough where I combined Pure Darkness (PD) + Scorched Contract (SC) mods :D I've just reached Anor Londo and don't know what to expect from SC further, since I haven't played it before.

      If I would imagine how SC goes w/o my mod I would say that Iron Golem would be harder at SC (jesus, how salty I was in this fight... but at the end I love it) , while Taurus, Gargs, Capra and Gaping are harder with PD. Asylum and Quelaag are just too easy in both cases.
      But to be honest difficulty will depend on a specific player, his skill set and strats which he used to use.

      P.S. About the Great Hollow. PD is fine if your goal is to reach Ash Lake. You just need to take your time. But if you want to pick all the treasures it will be insanely hard. I tried to pick Cloranthy ring and that took me 7 tries :D and this is one of the easiest treasures to get in the Hollow.
      Unfortunately, I can't design the mod to make full completion playthrough possible (for a sane person). Mainly because it will make a usual playthrough much less challenging. But also it would be incredibly time consuming to test.

      Welp. SC's O&S is definitely harder than PU's O&S. Same is Pinwheel... lol. I hate HotPocketRemix ...
      And before I was afraid that my mod is too hard for ppl to play.. now im afraid it is too easy...

    This is great. i literally just think about dark souls Dark Mod just like in dark souls 3 and here it is.

    My first thought when seeing this is that this would be a great way to roleplay a character who is supposed to be blind. Then turn the sound way up and use headphones. Looking forward to trying!

      In my experience it is easier to rely on the circle movement of the target selection than on the sound. :D But may be you are a better listener.
      Good luck and good fun anyway. Boss fights will be very hard, but I hope I haven't missed major issues.
