      Most mods for Dark Souls will be incompatible with one another, full stop. It's just a consequence of how the game has to be modded, for the time being.

    What's the update? I see "last updated 1.3.2019.", but I don't see anything different from the version I downloaded the last summer. Not only that, but the main dl is from 2017(v2.011).

    I saw the big 2.0 update notes, but then I realized I already have them. lol

      Recent updates have all been optional files, not the main file.

      I want to have Rekindled polished before I release the next wave of stuff. I've had trouble working on it as I've had a great deal of health issues. Everything currently available is placed under Miscellaneous, as the Playtest. Installation is as simple as dragging the contents of the compressed DATA folder into your install DATA folder, after you run UDSFM.
      New spells, weapons, armor, slightly rebalanced stats, etc. Nothing big on Lordran itself, yet. Check Petrus and Andre; very few items have made their way into loot.

    Hi!! One question: Using the unpacked version of your mod, you can tell me if is compatible with the New Aggression Mod??

      Mods are generally incompatible with one another if they affect gameplay at all.

      only if the Aggression Mod relies solely on a DLL, in which case it still might not.

      The Rekindled Playtest has an Aggression Mod option in d3d9.ini, however I would assume that it is the old Aggression Mod.

    When I picked up a Balder Shield it shield bashes instead of parrying. I don't see that information listed on this mod and I have no idea what is causing it. Any ideas?

    EDIT: I'm fairly sure this isn't intended because a knight parried by shield bash and killed me. lol.

      Fully intended. Several of the larger medium shields were given shield bashes in place of parrying. This was only changed for the player, however, as enemy behavior is not controlled by the equipment the player has access to. Shield bashes are a stagger tool, used to quickly jab an opponent and stagger them out of an action. It's not as effective at guard breaking as a kick, but deals greater Poise damage, if I remember correctly.

      Understood. While I see very little use for bashing as it takes multiple low damage hits to cause a stagger that in the same time would kill an enemy, I'm not so attached to larger medium shields to ask it to be changed. If I were to give any feedback on the bash itself I think it would be better if it did no damage but had enough force to break enemy parry animations and stagger the enemy enough for a free hit. If it could be taken even further I like the idea of bashing a parrying enemy to cause an opening to riposte them as if you parried their attack. Just a few thoughts I had.

      I significantly increased Poise damage on shield bashes. Are you trying to bash a Black Knight? Because those guys have MONSTER poise, very little works on them

      Also which knight parried with a shield bash? To my knowledge no NPC's... Oh you mean your shield bash got parried. That's on the to-do list...

      I just realized I said "by shield bash" instead of "my shield bash", stupid typo. But yeah, you guessed it right.

      Edit: While I'm here responding I was wondering if there is any update on the sunlight pendant given by Gwynevere for joining the princess covenant. As it is the item drops on the ground and only plays an animation when you try to pick it up but remains on the ground.

    It seems that the mod will not work with cracked game.The original game is not on sale anymore so I had to download the cracked version, I would be most grateful if someone have the solutions for it to work. Thank you.

      We do not support piracy in any fashion in the Rekindled project, so we'll welcome you to find a way to purchase the game and try it from there. Leftover game keys can still be bought from G2A from time to time. We are otherwise researching methods to port the mod to the remaster and restore the positive qualities of the original game, but this obviously comes secondary to maintaining and expanding Rekindled itself.

      Unfortunate, yes, but not worthy pity. They could just as easily have left the original up for purchase, or made the remaster a DLC for the original, leaving aside any possible issues with internal debates between Fromsoft and Bamco.

      Not everything in our mod will be compatible with pirated versions, and we will not support them if anything breaks. Future versions will be adding yet more breaking changes, so expect your lifespan in the Rekindled mod to be rather short, to say the least.

    Just wondering, but for the playtest version are you supposed to first download the main file, which has the dvdbnd3 files, and extract that then extract the playtest files? Doing just the playtest install does not change anything, since it lacks the dvdbnd3 files.

      Ok instructions for the Playtest:
      Unpack Dark Souls with UDSFM.
      Literally drag the contents of the Playtest's DATA folder into your own DATA folder in your Dark Souls install.
      You CAN splice the Playtest into your game's files, but it's better to just switch over to the Unpacked version for a lot of reasons.

    Ugh...i installed the mod following all the instructions, i have no other mods that can conflict with this one, and it doesn't work. The classes are still the same at the character creation screen and the items too. I've downloaded the misc file and copy-pasted the DATA into the folder of the game. Help pls.

      ...and you're saying it's straight up not working? Check to make sure you're not pasting a DATA folder *into* the DATA folder (which results in two DATA folders which doesn't work), and instead pasting the contents of the modded DATA folder into the game's DATA folder

    First: Thank you for the mod, me and my (now viable) Astora's Straight Sword thank you for it!
    Second: I just finished O&S killing super ornstein and I did not get the ring. Is the ring located somewhere else or has it been removed or would this be a bug?

      A bug that is most likely not related to Rekindled; there is no reason for that to happen and I have never encountered it. There should be a yellow glow underneath Ornstein (it isn't automatically added to your inventory)

      If you just want the rebalanced stats and such, download the main file. If you want the custom content (new spells and weapons) download the misc file.

      So, i don't get it. I've put the DATA folder from the misc file here and nothing changed. The starting classes are the same, there is no white seance ring at the start. What gives? I'm using DSfix, AndresCranialEmber, SweetFX Cold and Sharp, DS3 UI and Dark Souls HD texture pack.
      EDIT: Eh, the SweetFX has a .dll that conflicts with the mod it seems, guess i won't be using SweetFX then.

      Implementation of what you see there is WIP, and some of it has changed since those images were uploaded. There's already a wide array of custom weapons and spells added through Rekindled that you can check out by downloading the latest playtest.

      There's already new weapons and spells obtainable in the current playtest. You can visit Andre to get the new weapons. Don't remember where we have the new spells, but it's one of the spell vendors...we used to stick everything in Petrus's inventory, but people kept killing him before they downloaded the mod.

      In the next upload, Ricard will drop that set. It's fully functional but I don't think I gave it proper defense values.

      Those are exclusive to Rekindled, and are part of our identity as a mod. The only way they would be released separately is if the artist that created them wanted his own separate upload, and he seems to feel his work is as much a part of Rekindled as the rest of us.
