Do you want to learn how to enable cheats within Darkest Dungeon II? If so, please continue reading this document. The steps will all be in order going down the list.
You will need a tool that enables you to read the contents of a DLL file.
Use something called DNSpy which you will find here: https://github.com/dnSpy/dnSpy/releases/tag/v6.1.8
After downloading DNSpy, open it. Click on File and then open. Or simply press Ctrl + O at the same time.
Navigate to the Managed folder which should be inside of your Darkest Dungeon II_Data folder.
Go ahead and click on IronCrown.Dll. Press Open. Take note to save a Backup of IronCrown.DLL beforehand!!
You should see the Search function below. Click the inside of it and type enable_cheat.
Read and edit accordingly to your desires. You should right click and edit method (C#) or edit class (C#). The results should primarily be the same. Afterwards, click Compile. If all go wells, you will have zero warnings/errors.
Click File and Save Module... The destination will be the same as the DLL you edited.
Load Darkest Dungeon II and you will have the cheats enabled in-game. Press the appropriate hotkeys to activate.
Play around, experiment, test, and have fun! If there is something that you learned and perhaps noticed hasn't been recognized by the modding community, I ask that you please share the knowledge.
