I can't figure out how to incorporate these sprites into the game. can anyone help? I have downloaded the mod, extracted the folder into the streamingassets/mods. is there some step I am missing?
In needs some lods etc, because of can see some switching between these and old textures as you gettting further/closer to these new npcs.. its annoying..
I don't know. Graphical mods based on original game art never credit the company that created the game or the original artists. DREAM is mostly altered AI upscales based on Daggerfall art, but credits to Bethesda or the original Daggerfall art team are nowhere to be found.
Pretty certain once art/photos are run through AI or is altered enough it becomes a new unique thing that is owned by the new creator.
Sure. It's not hard to do a lot of simple things. But is it REQUIRED or NECESSARY?
Okay, but like maybe ask all other modders to do the same? Including DREAM mod (this HD NPCs mod may or may not be based on), which also used AI to alter and enhance the original game art, should credit Bethesda and all the artists who worked on Daggerfall.
Good luck!
PS: AI engine doesn't need to be credited since AI cannot own rights to an image it didn't fully create, it is nothing more than a very complex tool when humans set the parameters (i.e. text prompts, base image to work from, etc.). Google it.
Im quite sure its based on my mod but I guess the author cant be arsed to say it - standard behavior nowadays. He run my sprites Ive spent 100s of hours on thru AI and now its "his work" - yay.
Amazing! I really hope people use more Ai for games, its wonderful! I'll download this once there are more sprites covered so that playing wont be as jarring but man I love it, Thank you!
...Yea, it looks good, but its not perfect as some detail went missing, or the AI misunderstood some parts of sprite, such as the bartender, who is suppose to be cleaning out a mug, but instead, the AI thinks he's holding a piece of paper / fabric.

However to be fair - much of DREAM is just slightly altered AI-upscales of original DF art.
