    Sticky
Version 2.0 has been released! Hurray!

It revamps the interior of all palaces, both generic and capital city palaces. Also, it adds the capital city of Dak'fron in the region of the same name and a palace in the capital city of Koegria.

Remember that it requires Daggerfall Expanded Textures 0.6.3 or later and New Paintings 0.5.0 or later.

    Enjoy exploring the new palaces!

+1 I have the hd version of the paintings mod, not sure if that has something to do with it

It appears that the HD version of New Paintings has a different file name than the regular one. Renaming the mod's file so it's the same as the regular should do the trick.

Just wanted to let you know that the updated palaces conflict when used both with the "Transparent Windows" mod AND the DREAM "Textures" plugin together (i.e. all three mods intead of just two of them).
It causes different textures to be assigned to the same location, resulting in z-fighting.
For example, within the palace, a red banner and a green banner would be placed in the identical location, so the game would constantly flicker between the two, depending on the angle the player is looking at them.
Disabling EITHER Transparent Windows OR the DREAM plugin fixes that issue (and since TW also causes conflicts with some other mods, that was the one I chose).
Now, this COULD be just a bug of "Transparent Windows" and have nothing to do with "Famous Faces", but since I haven't seen this graphics glitch appear anywhere else in the game outside of the redone palaces, I just wanted to give you a heads-up, in case you'd like to look into it.

Mostly fixed by the latest update to "Transparent Windows" (0.6.0), however some instances of double textures remain:

I assume this is caused by the banner on the palace outside wall and the one on the inside behind the armor having the same coordinates.

It's not something I can fix but I'll let the Transparent Windows author know of this. There may be a way for him to make a patch.

I am experiencing an issue where some of the billboards of the Npcs are massive enough they take up the whole screen, would you happen to have any idea of how to resolve this?

Are you using Villagers Immersion Classic?
If so, load it after DREAM.
If not, don't mind me. ^^

appreciate the reply, unfortunately im not using it, i have a rather large modlist so it's taking quite some time to go through and see if any other mod is conflicting,

i tried putting famous faces below dream and the issue still persists,
though its not helpful to myself i still appreciate the reply

managed to track down the issue - it was caused by the Race Height mod, for some reason it interacts poorly to the introduced NPCs not entirely sure why - easy to remove that mod from my list though.

Hi, I think this completely transforms the experience when entering mundane palaces into one worthy of the high status, wealth and power they should have had originally. It's really cool to see the palaces have NPCs that make more sense for the region when using RoH, VIC and Regional NPCs as well!

I've noticed in my testing for ArenaFall Enhanced that occasionally the palace of Santaki in central Hammerfell will default to a High Rock aesthetic for some reason and I'm not sure if it's this mod or Regional NPCs causing it. Sometimes the banners change on the outside of the palace, sometimes the inside changes and sometimes both happen. For example -

    Spoiler:
    Show

    as it should be:

sometimes like this (couldn't reproduce banners outside again but it did happen more than once):

    Hi,

I've been closely following the progress of v2.0 on Discord, congrats on the release!

I'm not sure if this is something on my end, but with the new update, the city of Naresa seems to be completely missing? I've tested on a new save with only this mod and its requirements, and traveling to Naresa puts you on the side of some picturesque hills by the coast, with the entire city seemingly Thanos-snapped out of existence. Rather eerie!

      Thank you for the report!

I've just updated the file. The city will show up correctly now.

    Beautiful mod!
I've found an issue with flashing white texture on this particular shelf surface area of some palaces.

Also... any way you could add two female servants to this tub for "royal bathing" duties?🤣

      Hi and thanks!

The bookshelf issue is related to Improved Interior Lighting.

      It isn't a big deal at all.🍺
Awesome cozy mod that adds so much more depth to the world!

Hey, this mod looks amazing. But whenever I try to use it, it never works. I've tried multiple times through the past months, but I believe both this and the expanded textures mod simply don't work for me. I've checked several palaces and no NPCs spawn.

      Hi!

Are you using Daggerfall Expanded Textures 0.3.1 and Famous Faces 1.21 or newer?

Is it possible to meet the Underking or the Fay? :)

      Not.. yet! ;)

I did see a very cool sprite of the Underking on the Daggerfall Unity forums. It may be possible to implement him at one point.
As for the Fay, they have their sprites in the game files, but I feel that the implementation would require more thinking than simple world placement.

Maybe you'll even be able to give the totem to the Underking in person. ^^
      That would be... epic.

Are there quests related to these characters? :)

If they are related to certain factions it would be cool to be summoned for certain missions. Like for example a ruler summoning you if you reach a certain rank or level of reputation within the local knight's order.

I have not written quests for them, but quest mods can indeed use these NPCs. :)
See "Whispers From the East", for example : https://www.nexusmods.com/daggerfallunity/mods/370

I'm glad to see cut cannon characters added regardless. They can still give randomised quest like any other NPC:s. ^^

I've got some ideas, and if I figure out how moding Daggerfall works I will attempt to make some based on unique characters depending on the reputation the player has to them, and trying to base it on whatever lore I can find about the characters. No idea how advanced it is though. Probably more than I think.

I will check out the mod you recommended. Thank you. And thank you for your own mod as well. :)
