I had a dream. I dreamt I saw the flame of the torch I'm holding in my hand, and as I passed by a hidden door, the flame moved under the effect of the wind blowing through.
Great idea, still works well in 2024 with a bunch of various mods.
I use it, it works, but it's very quiet, even with the mod setting volume up all the way. You need to have the music at a low volume, or use a mod that replaces music with ambience, and still keep an ear to the walls.
"without resorting to madly clicking on every wall" In fact i'm madly clicking them a lot more since your mod installed : there are so many dungeons where wind sounds are all over the place that it's like there were secret doors everywhere... and wind sounds in daggerfall are not very different one from the other. And yes, I also played with the pitch setting. I'm not saying to switch to something less naturel, i like the wind for the immersion, but if it would be possible to have a "new" and different wind from what daggerfall uses, it would be great (there are some on opengameart that could do the trick).
This mod would be a must have (and maybe it's already a must have for people with better ears than mine ?!)
Took me a while to get around to it (released the mod in 2019 on DFU forums) but I've made a bit of an overhaul to the code based on feedback. There are way less wind sounds now due to line of sight checks. Changing the pitch to around 1.5 should help differentiate from the random dungeon wind sounds and more noticeable now without random doors all over conflicting and opened doors no longer emit sound. Hope that helps!
Nice mod, but im a little confused as to what the minimum and maximum settings are meant to do? Is If I set the minimum distance high, does that mean I hear it from further away or that I can't hear it if I get within that distance to the door? Im not sure if I messed with the settings, but the hidden door you start behind in the starting dungeon is very audible and clear, but every secret door ive found has been through the map as I haven't encountered the sound since.

Suddenly, these door drafts sound like a sudden storm.
10/10
Maybe the sound just plays way too infrequently?
Also it would be great to stop sound after door was opened.
