Is there a list of spoken voice lines for the provided voice pack? I imagine a Skeletor voice pack, that spits out "Dad-Jokes", puns and sick burns just for skeletons.
Another layer of reality added to the world, amazing framework.
Wild idea for the future: unintelligible brawls and pseudo-language phrases of other races starts RNG turning into individual intelligible words and phrases in English as your language skill grows.
In theory anyone can create additional packs that do the following (I will need to add one additional check to the base mod though):
Example for Orcs: Voice Pack Orcish - No Skill Mod => Active when Orcish language skill < 15 => Just gibberish, orcish sentences Voice Pack Orcish - Semi Skill Mod => Active when Orcish language skill > 15 and < 50 => Gibberish mixed with english Voice Pack Orcish - Full Mod => Active when when Orcish language skill > 50 => Gibberish mixed with english
The first two wouldn't need that much variety for the different actions I guess. And the fun part, if someone made the first two, other people can create all kinds of full english voices for Orcs and this would still be compatible.
I could try to create these for Nymphs based on the audio files I already have ... 🤔
Makes sense - the simplest way to accomplish such an effect.
You should pin this or put it in the description. I think it's something people may find worth pursuing.
To those future contenders going after such packs, I'd say it would be worth doing the whole stretch in one go - otherwise it may be a little jarring to hear low-voiced animalistic growls from one voice actor, suddenly changing to, say, a high-pitched west-coast bro accent two skill points later ;)
language skill lv31 orc: "urduk, gramhar nutta ra!"
language skill lv32 orc: "so then I, like, totally slayed him, bro."
Haha yeah, would be hilarious, but honestly most of the time you wouldn't notice it. If you install the high Fantasy orc voice pack and the west coast bro Orc pack, then it's just variety. 99% of the time you kill the enemy before your language skill changes and you can suddenly understand everything.
Only the Language Overhaul Mod, that lets you recruit enemies would make it obvious that your high fantasy orcish companion suddenly speaks like a chad in your language after you leveled up xD
I will add it to the tutorial page once I enabled the functionality to check for both min, min/max and max language skill needed. :)
It is endlessly fascinating to me to see the rapid evolution of Daggerfall as a case study for, effectively, a kind of a spontaneous, living, self-organising game development process.
Daggerfall oin it’s vanilla state merely provided the groundwork for what it is now becoming.
I hope someday, someone will crack the procedural dungeon generation aspect, to allow for more intricate and richly detailed layouts. I figure that’d be the ultimate, holy grail of daggerfall modding.
"That sounded like armor clinking." "Maybe someone's sneaking around." "Then they're doing a TERRIBLE job!" 🤣 Great mod and much more than I expected. Any hopes for a Physical Combat and Armor Overhaul compatible version?
I could try adding the PCAO Harmony patch I created for DaggerBlood, but a non-hacky support will not be possible (You will still get a warning that VCEH is missing, but you can ignore it then + won't work for Android).
When PCAO 2.0 release this will be a non-issue hopefully, but only time will tell.
I'll let you know when I got it working with Harmony.

"another fool walks to their death" could be the next "never shoul've come here"

Zach Brown did an awesome job with this voice, it's hilarious.
