****************************************
* Enemy Spellbook v1.0 - CLASSIC * August 28th, 2022
****************************************

Completely unstacks the congested and pointless icon associations used by your enemies, all trapped objects, and all found on-the-ground magic items (whether you've found 'em already, or not!) Re-associates every one of these to a reasonable classic graphic, with strong themes of both color and shape.

Also affects default icons shown for spells in guilds, at time of purchase.

...does not change icon associations for any personal spells already in your own book; but will for purchased pre-mades, going forward.

See included pictures.

How to Setup for Daggerfall Classic (DFC) or for DFU
======================================================
Literally all HUD icon-to-magic-association revolves around the core gamefile SPELLS.STD, located in the arena2 directory of the DFC installation. It's a reference from each pre-made spell, to the hexadecimal position in the icon-atlas. The modded file changes all of those atlas hex references; done by hand, carefully checked, and carefully tested.

INSTALLATION - Do the following, in order:
-----------------------------------------
--> Ensure that the game is not running.
--> Navigate to (DFC-install-directory)\arena2\
--> There, find your original SPELLS.STD file and rename it to something like SPELLS.STD.orig
...(exact rename doesn't matter, you're just preserving the original file if you want to revert back)

--> From the "Mod Datafiles" folder of this archive, choose the new SPELLS mod-file you wish to use (CORE vs EZ mode)
--> Place your chosen SPELLS file into the "arena2" directory from earlier
--> In "arena2": Rename your chosen SPELLS.STD.*** mod-file to exactly: SPELLS.STD

Launch the game, you're done!

TO TEST: Go to a large Mages Guild and look at the icons while scrolling thru the list of spells for sale...

NO Impact to Savegames
========================
Nothing about this mod changes your save games (in DFC or DFU). Virtually all changes to icons are retroactive; meaning, everything changes on the fly when you load or unload the mod by renaming SPELLS.STD (like if you had literally time-traveled).

The only thing you want to keep in mind: While this doesn't change icons for spells already in your spellbook, it will for the defaults to new pre-made ones that you purchase while this is enabled. If you unload this, those newly purchased pre-mades will still point to the mod's choices; rather than reverting to old-school. You can change that inside your spellbook afterwards, by clicking the spell's icon, like always.

Misc
======
-Many changes since prior released testbuild, v0.90

-Uses the modern SPELLS.STD, with the Jumping spell-fix.

-Does not actually cause "Wraith Alert!" to appear on-screen; that's what you should know in your mind. It's your tactical takeaway.

-In "ESB-ClassicDefaults.png" the orange corner 'v2' is the version of that image; not of the mod/project. It's to keep track of that image out in the wild.

-How to reassign the potion-icon is unknown; even tho I read thru a ton of hex and tried. Obviously it's referencing hex 00 in the atlas, but there's 0x00 padding everywhere, so it's very hard to reverse-engineer... contact me if you know the hex location(s)!

Shoutouts
===========
To a legend of old: Dave Humphrey, for his 1998 creation of "DFSpell v0.1b"; a utility to modify spells, their names, and their effects. Without that, I would have never figured out how to scrap together the first test-build of this mod for myself in a hexeditor, decades ago as a teenager. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, and for founding the UESP... you rock, buddy. Peace to you, wherever you are.

--> REMEMBER: Making custom personal icon selections via the spellbook interface has no impact on magic items or the books of enemies, and never has.
