Looks like as of the latest update (Patch 2.11) this may have been fixed in the game :)

I never installed any redmod-mod. I think I got the file in the rights place, but it does not work for me. I start the game normally and "with mods'" from GOG.

I also had this issue but fixed it
1: Make sure REDmod is installed, it's in the DLC section when you check the properties in Steam (Right click Cyberpunk > Properties > DLC)
2: In the Cyberpunk LAUNCHER, make sure Enable Mods is checked, click the gear icon next to Play if you don't see it
3: Launch the game through the Launcher, it will compile the installed REDmods

After this I don't think you need to use the launcher to enable mods, I think you just need it whenever you install or change your installed REDmods

not sure how you do it on gog but you have to deploy the mods

what i do is open CMD (command line tool) then enter the following commands (the path to your game will be different)
      cd /d B:\Games\Cyberpunk 2077\tools\redmod\bin

      redMod.exe deploy -root "B:\Games\Cyberpunk 2077"
you will be able to see if it succeeds in activating the mod or not

and in the launch parameters of the game i put
      --launcher-skip -skipStartScreen -modded

Love this simple QOL! Highly recommend using it in combination with Kiroshi Opticals - Crowd Scanner by Reki72
Endorsed & Kudos'd, tagged the mod as 'Quality of Life'

I honestly don't remember it defaulting on HACKING, prior to 2.0, or maybe I never noticed---but it's super annoying now, with 2.01, since I like scanning everything for DATA infos, lol!

Hella awesome work on this, Greenismyfavoritecolor!! THANK YOU so much for this, my choomba!! Works like a charm!! Endorsed!! ♥

[ Note: Though I'm actually using the non-REDmod version of this, I felt the need to download & Endorse this to show appreciation, since this/your mod is the first/original variant which led to the non-REDmod version's creation! ] ♥
    1. Thanks for your kind comment! Glad you were able to find a way to avoid the annoying switch, it definitely drove me crazy when I first started playing post 2.0, since I also scan pretty much everything bc i like reading the data tab lol.

It looks like its been officially addressed & fixed by CDPR in the latest patch, thankfully :)

Indeed, a pleasant surprise when I read the 2.11 patch notes!
Thank you for your service, 'Scan Mode - Default to Data Tab', and thank you for saving my sanity during the 2.xx scanning days! It was an honour having you!  o7  :P

Just tried this, and it fixes the priority of Data vs Hack, but what I'm noticing is that if I scan "civilians" (non-bad guys/cops/etc.) that I get no option for hacking, so I can't burn civs alive.

Well maybe never mind. Removed the mod and it looks like this is an issue with the base game itself now. :P

I tried the non-REDmod versions, didnt work. So I downloaded this, enabled mods and all in GOG, started the game through the usual desktop shortcut, used the REDprelauncher from the main directory, nothing worked. But starting the game directly through GOG's play button activates the little window for REDmods to load and now its finally working.

So if anyone runs in to the same problem, this is how you solve it.

    Thanks for the mod!

Putting it in Mods/ didn't work. Should I put it on the scripts of redmod? like... Cyberpunk.../redmod/

would be amazing to have a toggle hotkey for this! like in CET or something. then you can easily switch between situations where you want to quickly gather information or quickly attack enemies
