There are many different playstyles to Cyberpunk 2077, now more than ever, with Update 2.0, and the game displays beautiful visuals when it comes to the various ways you can fight your way through enemies. There is one area that is still woefully underexplained though, and that is stealth - if you decide on a non-lethal approach to certain missions and gigs, the vanilla game doesn't tell you if you managed to do it without killing anyone or not.

This is what inspired this mod - to be able to see that, and expanding on it, to track how many enemies you neutralised in those various ways mentioned before.

This mod lets you accurately track your kills and many of your other takedown stats, providing full visibility over your approach to conflicts and combat in Cyberpunk 2077. It rewards you for opting for pacifist resolutions by letting you know how many enemies you neutralised in which approach (killed, murdered, or just knocked out) and what playstyle you used (melee, ranged, quickhacking, etc.). It does this via a new "Kills" tab on the "Stats" screen in the in-game menu.

It extends and/or revises the functionality of the other kill counter mods as well as fixing their bugs (the "Kill Counter" mod just queries hidden vanilla counters and even the 'fixed' mods seem to have retained major bugs.) This is completely standalone, though, you do not need to install any other kill count mods for this to work. The game's original data tracking system bugs are also fixed.

Features
  • Compatible with & supports Patch 2.12 and Phantom Liberty
  • Tracks Killed, Finished, Defeated and Incapacitated Enemies, as well as total Kills (Killed + Finished) - see more below!
  • Tracks total Downed Enemies and enemies Downed With Melee, Ranged, Quickhacks, Stealth Takedowns, Non-Lethal Stealth Takedowns and Other means such as explosions or pressure waves
  • Excludes enemies you kill as Johnny (e.g. in Love Like Fire and Never Fade Away)
  • Excludes enemies you kill in VR (e.g. in Practice Makes Perfect)
  • Excludes enemies killed by your companions (e.g. Jackie in Act 1)
  • Excludes enemies you kill as Hansen (in Phantom Liberty - Balls Against The Wall)
  • Civilian kills DO count now, unlike in the vanilla game
  • Robots / Droids / Mechs now count as Defeated, instead of Killed (latter is vanilla behavior)
  • Body dumps are NOT lethal now (the "Dump (lethal)" prompt in 2.0 when approaching a dump with a body is effected non-lethally)
  • Will be updated for new versions continually

Most of these features might seem obvious or were promised by other mods, but unfortunately neither the vanilla game's hidden counters, nor other kill count mods have managed to fully eliminate them so far.

This mod is recommended for new playthroughs - If installed in the middle of existing playthroughs, some of the counters will show the hidden unmodded and buggy vanilla figures that registered during that playthrough up to the mod's installation.

Stats
  • Kills - Total enemies killed + finished
  • Killed Enemies - Enemies you neutralise with lethal last hits / single hits from weapons or lethal hacks
  • Finished Enemies - Enemies you murder after they'd been defeated or incapacitated
  • Defeated Enemies - Enemies you neutralise with non-lethal last hits / single hits from weapons (e.g. shots to arms/legs) or with certain non-lethal hacks
  • Incapacitated Enemies - Enemies you neutralise with non-lethal takedowns, in fistfights or with certain non-lethal hacks
  • Downed Enemies - Total enemies Killed + Defeated + Incapacitated (not counting Finished as they were defeated/incapacitated first)
  • Downed With Melee - Enemies you neutralise with your fists or melee weapons (including monowire and thrown knives)
  • Downed With Ranged - Enemies you neutralise with pistols, revolvers, SMGs etc.
  • Downed With Quickhacks - Enemies you neutralise with quickhacks (including their status effects and damage over time)
  • Downed With Takedowns - Enemies you grab from stealth and kill
  • Downed With Non-Lethal Takedowns - Enemies you grab from stealth and take down non-lethally
  • Downed With Other - Enemies neutralised with grenades, other explosions and pressure waves

Requirements

  • redscript 0.5.16 or above
  • RED4ext 1.23.1 or above (if you use REDmod, then install this for redscript's compability with REDmod)
 
Installation

  • Copy the UltimateKillCounter.reds file into the "Cyberpunk 2077\r6\scripts" folder (without quotation marks; create folder, if it doesn't exist)

Uninstallation
  • Delete UltimateKillCounter.reds from the "Cyberpunk 2077\r6\scripts" folder

Version History
  • v1.07 - Fixed a bug where neutralisations via Melee/Ranged weapons' status effects were still counting as Quickhacks
  • v1.06 - Applied a further fix to the issue where body disposal was still lethal after neutralizing enemies in select non-lethal ways

Known Issues & Bugs
  • If you hit an enemy neutralised with a Non-Lethal Takedown, it double counts in total Downed Enemies and the stat of this additional hit in Downed With Melee/Ranged/Other. (Other hits after neutralisations are fine and only the neutralisations count)
  • Defeating the two opponents in Beat On The Brat: Kabuki is not logged (vanilla behaviour)
  • Defeating the Wraiths with the Basilisk in Queen Of The Highway is not logged (vanilla behaviour)
  • Neutralisations with select quickhacks are not logged - System Collapse, Detonate Grenade, Cyberpsychosis (except suicide as last-man-standing), Memory Wipe + Reboot Optics + Sonic Shock combo (vanilla behaviour), Blackwall Gateway

Part of this mod is based on the original Kill Counter mod from darkelf44 (about 30% of the code, the fixes take a lot!) who provided permission in his mod to use its assets. (I contacted him before I first published this mod to ask him directly, but he doesn't seem to be active anymore.)
