I don't think it works as it should for 2.1. I didn't notice much difference in the draw distance. Also when you call your vehicle to your location a weird bug happens, sends your car into space. Removed the mod mod now i can call my car no problem.
I'm running on a rig that can handle just about anything, and already running at the max settings for everything, a couple of items altered to be over max. At 4k even with 300+ archive mods and multiple dozens of r6, engine and CET alterations I rarely dip below 100FPS. Though I'm sure this must be improving something, adding your archive didn't make any kind of noticeable difference for me.
Running a test, I opened your archive and doubled all the numbers (32 to 64, 48 to 96 ect.) and I'm still not seeing much improvement. Is there a max that the game limits you to?
Ideally, I'd just like to figure out how to do away with a vast majority of the games LOD proxy meshes and textures altogether and just have the game run the high-quality items for everything, near and LOD.
LOD Improvements (Distant Level of Detail) and High End Series - LOD 2X edit the same one file. No difference(the first one has more options from which you can choose tho). And these mods only affect NPC and Vehicles LODs, all other models are untouched. The bad thing about these mods - 1.5 broke those mods. Now at any values above vanilla, proxy meshes (the worst looking models) will sometimes overlap with high quality models
That was weird. I thought It is working since I see the effect and the file LOD Improvements modifying is outdated since 1.5 and that's the reason why I created this mod cuz it's outdated.
Try exporting it to json and comparing it... https://ibb.co/YhQd6ZR you can see that the LOD Mod has missing values and is not defined and maybe that's what causing some glitches.
Yes, some parameters were indeed added (my bad). However, this does not change the essence. Any values above vanilla will cause problems rendering proxy meshes on top of high quality models due to CDPR making some optimization changes in patch 1.5. With your latest 1.5x version:
There is no point in an infinite number of variations of this because of the problematic work on the latest version of the game
daniklite do you know how to disable or make generated traffic and crowd not visible?.. I didn't realize I was using your mods (i mean I'm using your mods and nothing wrong with it, just surprised).
so this proxy meshes is used when the LOD values are above the vanilla? weird but no one seems to encounter the problem to my knowledge. Can you tell me more about these proxy meshes and how they work? Hey, I'm learning
Edit: I see, you might have encountered these issues before on your mods. But maybe the limit you said does not affect the file this mod modifies. maybe... and btw how did you managed to fix this usage of proxy meshes problem?
What do you mean under "generated traffic and crowd"? You may be looking for this mod... mod Yeah, these ps4's surprises start randomly happening when values are higher than vanilla(I think this will be fixed in 1.6. At least I hope so) To know what proxy meshes are and how they work, you'd better read about it on the Internet(in short: Used as a low-poly representation of something when displaying a normal model(even the latest LOD level) is impractical (because of performance, for example).
Prior to patch 1.5, there were no such problems. After updating with my vegetation lod mod, such bugs began to appear in the game(because I also changed this file in earlier versions(why?)). So I redid it from scratch(to get rid of performance issues) and removed this file

Yeah tried that none already but doesn't work anymore after patch 1.5. Do you somehow know where to find values that can be used on configuration files? for example: DistanceBoost = 40.000000
I was talking about this config file? which needs to be put in the folder \engine\config\platform\pc , this file contains: [Streaming] DistanceBoost = 40.000000 RadiusNearInvMult = 0.99999 It actually works under any circumstances but the value should not exceed 50. i've even lowered it because of lod glitches
Hey! Does any one know how to increase light distance? You know street and normal lamps etc I know the devs decreased/nerfed light distance in one of the updates. Thank you in advance, and sorry if my english is a little off
I have a fairly beefy rig and your mod fixed most of the close range blurry/blob textures bugging out when the others around are normal. Game performance is still the same for me but I keep it capped at 65 cause its a story game and I don't need 165 frames to match refresh rate at 1440p. Thank you.
I genuinely think that mod is outdated because I tried comparing the files from game version 1.5 and the file modified by that mod and I think the mod is not working because the structure of the vanilla file has changed or because of some missing value so there must be some misreading if the outdated mod was used so prolly some error and bugs.
Didnt try that mod this was the first time using one of cjeod23's mods but before this game at both 1080p and 1440p did this even though the rest of what was infront of me would render properly. (https://gyazo.com/8837b00e385592968c09b5e2e0d20724) This mod for the most part actually fixed this issue for me. Im about to delete it though and try his rtx mod. Figured I would do my part since the mod dev said he doesn't have an rtx card id do some testing and give some feedback.
Thank you for testing. So in your case, your RayTracing is turned on and you used this mod (LOD 2X Archive) and it is working? if yes, which RayTracing option did you use?
yes it was all settings to their highest at 1440p, all rt on, lighting on psycho, all dlss on balanced or quality. Was playing for a bit on the new rt one and it happens very rarely now and when I look at it, what is blobby like compared to what I showed earlier would clear up immediately/focus.
yes, psycho rt lighting and the rest of the rt options are on. 3 of them are just on off switches and lighting is the only one with levels/options to it.
For me, there was no noticeable difference from this mod both in picture and fps (ultra rtx settings + dlss quality). But .ini tweak "DistanceBoost = 40.000000" worked. Screens here: https://imgsli.com/MTE2MjI1
Those who got it working, please post screenshots!
maybe Cinematic LODs are the default for RTX? I'm not sure but I think Ray-Tracing enabled is related to LODs values or maybe RayTracing enabled has its own LOD values. I'll create a variant for people using RayTracing.
I also tried it and could not find anything, but I may have looked in the wrong places and I also did not spend much time right now. (I will do this in the coming weeks though...)
y'all guys have RTX turned on? Maybe some of you have Cinematic RTX turned on already? I'll try to create a variant for people with Cinematic RTX mode turned on already.
Naturally I can only speak for myself, but yeah I have almost everything to the max but RT lightning, which uses Ultra instead of Psycho. Additionally, I'm running on DLSS Quality mode.
However, I would like to point out that I might have looked in the wrong places to make any sophisticated statement. If you or someone else knows a place where I should see a difference I will gladly go there.

To a certain extent, they seem similar but also different simply they also aim to achieve different things.
Also, you wouldn't know the performance impact of this mod, would you?
P.S.: I probably don't have enough free time to try this mod for the time being, but I will endorse it simply for the effort!

Improved Vegetation LODs - this one works differently, edits the vegetation meshes themselves.
Improved Traffic_NPCs Draw Distance and density - doesnt change LODs but affects the Draw Distance and density of NPCs and traffic. Can be used with mods from above.
It's a pity 1.5 broke the other LOD Improvements (Distant Level of Detail) and since this one edits the same files you assume it is broken as well, right?
The other two are still working as intended, aren't they?
Other mods still work.

- 10 fps is too much for my rig (uber modded game and super heavy already)
But effort is appreciated and endorsed.
