Anything that could let me use just 2 buttons, to go up and down gears so I can use the underside buttons on my PowerA controller with custom hotkey bound via CET overlay?
In the new game character creation, rotating your character shares binds with BACK and NEXT, so you can't properly look at your character's appearance.
Honestly... I only really want this for the Transmission system, I don't really care nor want any of the rest of it. So, I really wish that part was separated.
First of all, I think this is a must have mod. pretty immersive, the alt driving is pretty nice on keyboard users. Im using the alt driving + chill V and I reccomend it 100%.
The thing is, is it possible to change horizontal walk to normal walk? like A and D moves, not W+A and W+D
Not for the time this mod was created. Today probably is, but i've been out of CP since 1.06. Probably will take me sometime to come back, if it ever happens. I was massively hyped before game launch, but the game disappointed me more than I would like to admit.
I assume they mean the same thing that I am looking for -- the ability to keep all keys and functions as we currently have them, but to default to walking. It's the next best thing to having a toggle. I guess what we really need for that is to know which lines to alter in our existing config files.
Hello!! This mod looks awesome, and I'll definitely be downloading it.
I do have a question, or a request, but I'm wondering if it's possible to get a toggle for walking in this mod? It would negate the need for an entirely separate file just to have walking be the default if you were to set it up as a toggle. I believe another mod has been able to do it, but I don't want to download that mod and have it be incompatible with this one (because the car controls are awesome).
It was something I was wondering. Keep up the amazing work!!
Is this mod features (walk by default and transmission system for vehicle interest me) are compatible with "Better Controls Menu" ? (playing with the right side of the keyboard, i need to rebind keys and "Better Controls Menu" is needed due to lack of rebind options)
You can use this mapping instead. It makes the same than Better Controls Menu, just in a more comfy and intuitive way for the fingers. Using the keybindings list in Miscellaneous, you can rebind the keys to your liking. And keep the walking and driving extras.
OK, i'll try to edit the files with keybinding. About that, do you know the code for the menu key (the one between right control and window) and for extra mouse button ?
For the menu key, i don't know if that key can be rebinded. It works as a shortcut of other keys for Windows. Try IK_RMenu. The mouse keys are IK_Mouse4, IK_Mouse5 and so on.
Here's another method of driving controls you might like
<mapping name="Acceleration_Axis" type="Axis" > <button id="IK_Pad_RightTrigger" /> <button id="IK_W" val="0.06" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/> <button id="IK_LShift" val="1.0" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/> </mapping> Holding W in a sense holds your foot on the pedal at your current speed and shift acts like putting pressure on the pedal
Yeah, i thought about a sprint-like version with LShift. Being a holded button, the V feeled more comfy for the hand. Then B for mid speeds came to my mind.
The major change is <button id="IK_W" val="0.06" overridableUI="vehicleAccelerate"/>
Right now I have it set to 0.0006. Holding W doesn't speed up the vehicle (for the most part), only shift accelerates, W just keeps the current speed more or less. So if you're driving steadily holding W you can release W to slow down or press Shift to speed up.
The value of a key in the Axis functions sets the max acceleration and speed. Lowering too much the value will make no difference between holding it or let the vehicle slow down by not pushing any key. It's true that a combo of a really low W and a turbo key at 1.0 will result in mid-speed. It's more versatile having one key for mid-speeds, instead using W only to reduce the max speed of another. But it's not a bad alternative, tho. Using only two keys gives more binding options, like having the reducer in Mouse4.
