and for people wanting to uninstall this, please know that it is not as simple as just removing the file and being done, but it is still simple. my recommended method is to first remove the file, then when you load back into the save, notice it's most likely still raining, maybe even raining with the sun out. next thing you should do is fast travel to/from badlands and night city, which should successfully reset the weather. another method if the fast traveling didn't work is of course the blade runner easter egg location which usually works too.
I also had the "invisible rain" problem and unexpectedly came up with an elegant solution. You need to install the mod when it rains on its own. Wait for it to rain - save - install this mod - load - boom. You can speed up this with the Appearance Menu Mod. There is a slider for changing the time, if you change the time, the weather will also change.
Came here to confirm on my end. Had the invisible rain, but luckily I saved directly before installing this mod and kept skipping through time using the Appearance Mod Menu tool. You may want to put this tip in the description for others who are experiencing this issue. Outside of that, though, zero problems with it so far. I'm loving it, and it pairs perfectly with the BladeRunner Finer Rain mod!
Absolutely incredible mod, the atmosphere it sets is a complete gamechanger and would say it's an essential mod for any Blade Runner playthrough.
Just wondering, does Phantom Liberty have a lot of scripted weather missions that this mod doesn't touch as of this update? I've been holding off playing the dlc until this mod is updated to include the scripted weather missions but understand this could take a long time. Is it nearly every mission in the dlc that has scripted weather or just a very small amount? Trying to work out if i can playthrough the dlc with this mod currently.
Also, no rush at all, but is there any idea yet of when the update to include these missions weather will likely be coming out? Completely appreciate these kind of things take a long time but was wondering if there was an idea of a release window in place.
I've just been using Weathermancer since it came out honestly. Install it, & remove constant rain (since my mod overwrites some weather states) and just choose rain in the mod menu. There is a mission priority slider that overwrites most mission's weather, but for some of the new ones like when you watch the presidents ship crash in the beginning, you won't be able to see much happening in the sky with the vanilla rain fog. The great thing about Weathermancer is that it includes the new 2.0 weather states, including light rain or rain with no blue fog.
Please don't abandon this mod for Weathermancer. That has 5 (yes 5!) dependencies. I'm trying to run with zero mods that send me in to dependency-hell. I think Cyberpunk might have more dependency-hell than any other game I've modded, and since even minor updates usually break one or more of them, it's a constant battle (not to mention that every mod which is dependent on another mod will fail the moment that mod stops being updated). Mods without dependencies are far, far, preferable to a complex and fragile system of dependencies.
@mrspongeworthy Totally agree. Apart from having many dependencies, Weathermancer's weather changes last considerably less time than the Constant Rain mod (even when setting the new weather for a higher priority). As a result, you have to frequently set the weather to rain manually. I've downloaded WolvenKit and modified noxide1234's version of Constant Rain for my personal use. I've successfully eliminated the invisible rain issue on an existing save, so there's no longer a need to use the Blade Runner easter egg or Weathermancer as workarounds. I've also fixed the bug where random sandstorms might appear. The downside of my fixes is that they are more 'aggressive', and they will override scripted weather, which might not be to everyone's liking. I've been using my custom version of Constant Rain for over 80 hours, and it's been working really well. There's still room for improvement, but in its current state, the mod is 'good enough' for me. I admit I got a bit lazy and stopped trying to fix some small issues.
@mrspongeworthy Sure, but only with noxide's permission. In the meantime, I will leave here a link to my notes of the mod if you wanna try your hand at tweaking the mod yourself, you just need to install WolvenKit: Pastebin At the top of the document, I list all the changes that noxide's 2.0 version of the mod makes over the base game files. You can ignore the 'My personal fix 1.0' section, I only left it there as a reference. 'My personal fix 2.0' and 'My personal fix 3.0' sections are the changes that made it into the final version of my tweaked mod. Read the 'Notes' subsections for more info on the changes and bugs. Implement any of these changes at your own risk. Also, minor spoilers in the pastebin notes.
I am under the impression from the stickies and their comments in the message chains that they really don't want to keep working on this, otherwise why tell people to just use a different mod altogether?
It would be nice to have a standalone mod for this that the creator still had an interest in.
Not knocking noxide1234, I have my own mods on Steam Workshop that I have abandoned in the past due to lack of interest, but I have always passed them off to other people or "open sourced" them so people have an alternative.
@noxide1234 Please update the mod with legiaoday6557 changes. I've not worked with WolvenKit. I tried but couldn't get it to load the archive. This mod is important, since Weathermancer needs way too many dependencies. Thanks.
I installed this new version and it worked for a while, but then I skipped time once and the weather became stuck in a never ending dust storm. The moment I uninstalled the mod the dust storm went away. I never had this problem previous to the 2.0 update. I didn't even do any major quests during the time the mod was installed.
i don't know if this is fixable honestly. for whatever reason when i tried to modify the sandstorm duration/probability & load back in to test, instant crash. i change it back, and it loads again. 1.63 and before never had this issue so i'm not sure how to fix it yet.
Oh, okay. I've read reports of people playing the vanilla game and experiencing this bug of an endless dust storm, so I was a bit confused because I assumed the mod was supposed to force rain weather only. With your explanation, it makes a bit more sense. Thanks for the reply. As someone who has created 'constant rain' mods for other games, I can relate. Between scripted events that force certain weathers and hard-coded 'weird' weather patterns, trying to enforce a specific weather in a game can be a pain sometimes.
I was using the mod with no problems whatsoever. Out of the blue today I get sandstorm weather. Now the rain has stopped, even at the Bladerunner Easter Egg area, there is no rain. Maybe it's invisible now, but I don't hear anything. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the Bladerunner Rain area, no luck. Going to look for a previous save if I can now, before this sandstorm weather popped up and screwed everything.
@MisoAndRice I had the exact same problem as you. When the dust storm appeared, I went to the Blade Runner easter egg, and suddenly the rain had become invisible. So, I uninstalled the mod, walked around in the city, and waited a few days. Then, I went back to the Blade Runner spot, and it was raining normally again.
@legiaoday6557 Ah ok, glad to see that it is fixable in the way you mentioned. I just ended up going back to a save before the sandstorm appeared. Which thankfully was working fine, only lost a single lvl. Still not sure why the sandstorm popped up in the first place.
Happened again, went to the badlands for a scanner hustle and got sandstorm weather. Had to jump back a save.
Hey so I've tried installing this twice now since the update, I've tried using nexus, and and the manual method you have in the bio however neither seem to work. Launching it through nexus crashes my game and the manual method shows no results. It will rain momentarily, however when I go to skip time its immediately sunny or cloudy. Is there any fix you could recommend? Thank you.
that's how I did it initially and it still did the same thing. Tried a new game and even a save where it was raining on its own. I had the mod installed previously before the update and it worked fine but now it refuses to load. not sure why
Same results, I load the save atop the building with the easter egg and after I leave it rains for a while but then stops as the time goes on. no time skip. Should I re-install cyberpunk? there's no way I can play this game without this mod
should be working from a new game yes. make sure you don't have any other eye adaptation mods or anything like that too bc they all modify the same file. maybe try putting a # sign in front of the archive name. they somewhat fixed the vanilla rain but i still use the rain effect file from better finer rain for the close up rain effect, but not all the other rain textures from it anymore. he may update it soon too

thank you for this mod :) I had a quick question: would it be possible to update the toxic rain version to 2.X ? Thank you in Advance! :)

Always Fog
Overcast Night City
Do we still need to install it alongside better finer rain as well?
I think I might have to restart my playthru lol.
New playthru started, looks glorious! Thank you so much!
