Just an FYI, the shadow_blobs texture is used elsewhere in the game outside of vignette effects. As an example, the moving white directional line that overlays the metro system paths in the UI.
Not a big deal obviously but it might be used elsewhere in more obvious areas.
First of thanks so much for this (essential) mod. Cannot play without it anymore. On the downside it does seem to conflict with this mod Preem Scopes The he mod creator theCyanideX can't see how these would conflict.
I have uninstalled every single mod, reset all my in game settings to default but preem scopes still disables your mod. I would love to try preem scopes, but this UIGlow is bugging me too much to do so. Any tips are welcome.
I tried naming your mod differently by placing either ######## in front of the name and a row of zzzzzzzz. This didn't seem to help for me.
That's very strange... I can only theorize that the same effect is being reused somewhere for scopes. This mod only changes the glow texture to be transparent. So, if you override my mod with his, it the texture shouldn't even exist unless there are some changes to the file paths that theCyanideX made (which I don't even know if that's something you could do, I haven't delved that deep into modding). Maybe try instead of #### to use something like aaaa or _____ and make sure his mod is after mines alphabetically.
Question: Does it effect other UI elements? I'm more considered about the ui shadow and ghosting of things like the quest log or the weapon ui in the corners. There is a layered ghosting that happens. Even when still.
This mod only affects the glow/shadow effect that happens when you obtain new items and/or a quest is updated. It still does work in SDR but the effect displays correctly in SDR so it won't be as noticeable once it's removed by this mod.
I don't understand why this mod only works when HDR is turned on. It should be designed to also work when HDR is turned off but again the mod is only designed with HDR in mind.
It's not that the mod only works with HDR on, it's that it removes a glow effect that doesn't work well in HDR. In SDR, it is mostly hard to notice because the effect doesn't have banding like it does in HDR as in the first picture uploaded. This mod only affects this one glow/shadow effect that happens I believe only when you obtain new items and/or a quest is updated.

Will your mod help get rid of the ghost trails visible above that are on seemingly all UI elements, from these icons to subtitle text, etc.?
