Responsive V

V will now respond vocally to being bumped, hit by vehicles, and other world interactions including replying to Johnny while in a vehicle.

This mod is using many of V's unused voiceset lines already present in the base game (and often specifically designed for these scenarios), combined with other general reaction lines.

Reaction Scenarios
  • Getting Bumped - V reacts when NPCs bump into them, with responses escalating from mild annoyance to aggressive reactions with a middle finger animation
  • Hit by Vehicle - When hit by a car, V comments after getting back up and occassionally reacts with the finger
  • MaxTac Arrival - V reacts when MaxTac units show up and when Netwatch starts hacking player's vehicle
  • Stealing Vehicles - V comments when stealing cars
  • Vehicle About to Explode - V reacts when their vehicle is critically damaged
  • Vehicle Destroyed - V comments after their vehicle explodes or is submerged

Johnny's Commentary - V Now Responds instead of staying mute:

  • V reacts to Johnny's remarks as the passenger (ie when Johnny spawns in vehicle) adding some natural back and forth

Use Mod Settings to disable/enable reactions (optional)

FAQs

  • Are the voiceovers available in every language?
Since these are voiceover files already in the base game, they should automatically translate to whichever language you have set much like other quest dialogues.

  • How many animations are there?
Just the one - the finger. Originally, I was going to name the mod 'The Finger' :) but I realized it can be more general seeing the unused voiceset lines as well as the idea to integrate reactions to Johnny. I may add more animations in the future.

  • Will it intefere with gameplay?
No. Dialogs and animations are appropriately disabled during combat, quests, wanted stars, and other gameplay conditions.

  • How often is the middle finger shown?
It is intentionally a rare event and is based on an escalation matrix. You need to bump into walking NPCs around 6-10 times, front-facing (so bumps from behind don't count), to get to the middle finger animation. This escalation counter is reset every 75 seconds.
For being hit by a vehicle, there is a 50% chance of middle finger.
You can disable middle finger animation entirely in Mod Settings (Enable "Friendly Reactions") and just keep voice reactions

If you have more ideas, let me know!
