This mod works great just by itself, testing of this mod shows basically no impact on the performance. But just in case of compounding effects, I also tested extensively with some other popular LOD and draw distance mods, which are of course compatible with this one. My results remains the same — any impact on FPS is minimal.
Obviously I cannot test with every mod out there, so if you are having issues, try testing with only this mod. If you find performance isn't as smooth after trying the main file, then try the light / ultra light version. If that still doesn't work, then consider decreasing Crowd Density settings (under Graphics) to medium or low.
Download the mod, go test it out and have some fun, if it works for you feel free to come back and endorse it after 15 minutes. It will be greatly appreciated as it helps more fellow chooms find it ^(◔◡◔)^
In a random spot in Dogtown I loaded up the game with and without the mod. One time it had slightly higher (100mb) than without. Another time it was slightly lower... lol. It doesn't seem to be much different basically. Performance & memory usage is similar riding around the city it seems too. On a 4080s (16gb). Quite a few draw distance tweaks & lod mods... the vram limit can go over sometimes (mostly just dogtown). Even without this mod, haha.
There was a few 100 mb more system memory used though?
The visual difference was quite noticeable though. Seems like a keeper for me!
Please see optional files & read the descriptions carefully. If it's not there already, there probably won't be one because it's not needed or not possible.
Compatibility files are only needed if you were already using the specific file mentioned in their descriptions. Performance is not tested so YMMV, I only merged my mod's changes into the files of those mods.
If you want to report an issue, please test with only the main files. Thank you.
Not sure why, but on latest patch 2.3. If you skip to phantom liberty, walk up the stairs behind you. There is a car parked, but with this mod installed. That car is floating in the air, removing this mod fixes it. Maybe you need to update the world data to 2.3?
This mod is black magic. Outright voodoo. Combined with a density mod of your choice (provided it has a patch) and remove 2D Distant Cars...and it's just...it's exactly what this game needed to feel truly 'next gen'.

The only thing I suggest is a little more detailed instructions. The "patch" files are not patches. They are standalone files. You only pick 1 file and it has to correspond with whatever density mod the patch is for. Ideally link to the file too, will help for accessibility reasons and hopefully prevent silly annoying questions that wear on a person's nerves over time lol.
Indeed this mod makes the world so much more alive :)
The reason I cannot link to the original mod or add more detailed instructions is because Nexus has imposed a very short character limit in the description field of files. But I have edited the description to make it that much more clearer now, thanks to your feedback.
Do you mean we only need the compatibility patch, and we do not need the nova city traffic and population addon? because your compatibility patch conflicts with the nova city addon population and traffic file.
That's a PC issue, not this mod's issue. As mentioned in the sticky, if you're having problem using this in combination with Nova/Psycho Crowd, then just test with only this mod. This mod is a lot less impactful on performance than the other two.
does this mod fix an issue where NPCs disappear the moment I break into the car and throw them out? as soon as I open the door and the locks, at that very moment they disappear and I throw the nothing out of the car
Great working mod! Difference is already shown in the Benchmark: when leaving the alley, the group of people doing the Tai Chi (?) exercises, are normally popping up. Now with this mod, they are already there when the camera leaves the alley. Great stuff!!
Mod causes some stuttering but it only becomes major when used with psycho crowds balls out and it lowers cpu usage and tanks fps. Seems like the engine can't really deal with it too well. Tested on a monolithic 18 core with a fully modded basically everything you can have CB2077 but reverted to normal psychcrowds otherwise the 0.1%s went down to 40s.

This looks like just what I've been searching for, but I'm a bit weary. I know you said minimal FPS impact, but how much does it affect the CPU overall? My GPU barely sweats from this game, but the CPU is begging for mercy even without mods lol. The temperatures get crazy sometimes.
Did some testing and Disappearing NPC and Vehicle Fix by itself causes stuttering, regardless of vehicle light, i think the Ultra Light version has less spikes but they're still present.
I tested using only this mod active, frametime spikes are present as usual. frametime differences Left graph was the run with the mod active, the spikes at the end are when i get into the populated area and turned the camera, and the graph on the right is the vanilla game with no mods, same procedure.

I presume this may have an impact on VRAM use, but it's likely minimal.

So pls check the compatibility with other mods like NOVA, psycho density etc.
Thanks
