Yeah, those conflicts are fine... You're going to want the addons to load first, though, not the main mod file (won't matter for the effect, but it should for the wetter rainy states)...
No, I guess I just went a bit too heavy on one of the effects (they're really not intended to be used in the open world, they were made for specific quests)... I'll look into it in a bit... Thanks for sharing :)
Edit: You should've seen how bad that could get before I adjusted the effects at all...lol
Then keep enjoying it... Unless you also deleted it...lol
Edit: Sorry, I'm a bit tipsy tonight and just thought that was funny...lol... But basically, just had too many mods to manage... Kinda combined all of my lighting mods into a few newer ones... This one is actually mostly based off of that Customized Env Effects 3 mod, just with some tweaks and LUT swaps...
i try the new ver and honestly pretty like it, but i think the weather was a little unbalance. I mean sunny happen so little but acid and sandstorm are so long and happen to often, sometime it take like 2 days straight. Also rain sound weird all that i can say, still a top tier mod you have ever done, good job. i just hope we also get WRP ver like other mod you make. Stay strong brother !
Thanks for pointing that out... It's insanely time-consuming to try to test the weather cycles, so they're totally a WIP... Just needed feedback to know how it was... I've sat through weeks of in-game time (sped up 8x) testing, though, and haven't quite experienced that level of unbalance, but I know it's not perfect yet...
As for WPR versions, that's not going to happen... I like the long transitions too much...
Edit: The weather should be quite a bit more balanced in v1.03, though I'm still likely not completely finished tweaking it...
The rain is a lot lighter than vanilla, so didn't think it'd make sense to have vanilla wetness and puddles... These roads are definitely wet, though...
Edit: Also, as a non-RT user, I made this mainly to make raster look better... Idk if you use RT or not, but the screen-space reflections on puddles look really bad (as well as the raindrop splashes in them), where just a bit of moisture like this looks really good... If it's an issue for people, I can make an alternate rainy state with more wetness/puddles/rain (or you could use one from a rain mod like my Manually Enhanced Rain FX)...
i see, that definitely explains it! i am using PT. i love this mod for what it does with effects and transitions. i'll try your rain mod and see if that adds back the puddles, but if not i would definitely love a version that restores maximum wetness for rain! thanks for the attention here
these were taken using the vanilla LUT version with extreme weather, with addons for sandstorm, toxic rain, and pollution. i also have your rain mod with the HD textures addon.
Light Rain isn't my state, it's a quest state for Phantom Liberty and will never be cycled to... For the other 2, I'm looking at them and I'm not really seeing rain, so I think the amount of wetness is pretty on-point...
I will make an alternate version with heavier rain and more wetness, though (well, alternate rainy states as and "addon")...
Edit: "Wetter Rainy States Addon" has been uploaded :)
That should just be from the LUTs I used in the main versions (one of them definitely boosts pink/magenta a lot)... Have you tried the "Vanilla LUT" variants in the "Optional" files, though?
New heavier sandstorm is really awesome... And there is acid rain/pollution in the "with extreme states" variants, but they don't really have custom effects (acid rain has customized raindrops, but it's very subtle)... I do plan on making an alternate effect for it, though, which will be more extreme (and maybe some kind of pollution effect eventually)... I also may need to slightly adjust the probabilities and add more transitions for the extreme states... I added some more than vanilla and increased their probabilities, but they're still not quite as common as normal states...
Edit: Proper video of the new more extreme effect is now available (or will be soon if not)
It slightly hits FPS compared to vanilla in some weather states, yes... I only have a Radeon 5600XT 6GB, and it's not a very big impact, but there sometimes is a slight impact (mostly just in the 2 rainy states)... And yeah, it can be used with any LUT mod, though only the 3 extreme weather states in the main files will use them... If you want every weather state to use a custom modded LUT (or the vanilla LUT), use the "Vanilla LUT Variant" alternate versions (found under optional files)...
Only install one main or optional file, though (they are all different versions of the same thing)...
first of all, incredible work with this mod. i finally have varied weather with long transitions that persists across the map. if you were here i would kiss you (instead i donate).
ANYWAYS, i noticed an inconsistency in one of the weather states that i thought you might want to see. it looks to be maybe a light fog weather? hard to tell. i am casting a sharp shadow at night, as if there is a strong light source (all objects/NPCs are casting this shadow as well). however, when i look in the sky, there is no moon due to the heavy cloud cover. is this intentional, or possibly a limitation of the weather system (can't account for the moon being covered)? i am in the badlands with PT enabled. either way not a big deal at all but you're clearly very detail oriented so i figured i'd let you know!
I must not have got the moon alpha (opacity, basically) high enough for whichever that state is... It was intended to still be visible through the clouds like the sun is during the day in the overcast states because I just really liked having night shadows... May need to tone down the shadows a bit, too, though (by reducing the actual moon light alpha, and maybe other params for night time)... Thanks for pointing it out, I'll get it fixed soon :)
thanks for the quick reply! either way this mod is a huge improvement over the vanilla weather system, for me.
that's interesting you bring up the sun, i was going to ask about that next. the sun comes through rain clouds as a sharp white circle, you're saying that's intentional? i feel like in real life if there's clouds in front of the sun, the sun is completely obscured.
It shouldn't be a sharp white circle, but should be visible and slightly orange-ish/yellow-ish in the morning, then go mostly/fully invisible near noon before going more pinkish/reddish for sunset (for the overcast states)...
Are you using HDR? Another user commented about that below that was using it, and I can't test with HDR, so could be the problem (and I'll try to fix, but will likely have to go through a couple WIP builds)... If you're not using HDR then that'll be confirmation it's not just an HDR thing, and I can work on trying to fix it now...
Thanks for confirming, and including the states that are affected... I should be able to fix that pretty easily in the morning (about to head to bed now)...
saw you uploaded a new version for the white sun, and i tried it out but i'm still getting a perfect white circle for the rain and cloud weather states. not a dealbreaker by any means but thought i'd let you know i'm still seeing it. what do you see on your end?
you really outdid yourself this time, this is the most potential env you ever created. Although i love this lighting so far, can you bring back the extreme weather back ?
Edit: See the comment below this (at the moment) for a video preview (not up-to-date, and sadly, not gonna have all of that, but will have billowing dust)...
They're in the mod, just not extreme anymore...lol... But yeah, I could make an addon that makes them extreme again... Question is, how extreme would we like them to be? I personally hate thick fog, which is why I replaced them, but if that's what the people want, I can do it...
Edit: I should note that this will take a few days, probably, as those states are just a pain in general and this isn't like my other env mods... I put actual effort into more than just the clouds in this one and want it to be great...lol
Unrelated to current mod: hey @knewklear i might have a solution for the bands in the rain you and me both have (you mentioned this elsewhere) if you still need this.
ayy, wonderful. i'll shoot you a message. though, it's been a while since i noticed that problem. i haven't paid attention to it since. i don't know if it's still there
This looking alright for sandstorm so far? Still trying to figure out a way to nuke the rain sounds (without nuking it for rainy states), but I got some nice rolling fog (dust) going, I think...
The one I just uploaded today? Yeah, it is pretty awesome... Sucks you can still kinda hear the rain, but I got it mostly gone and still tweaking to try to get it completely gone (or at least not sounding like rain anymore)...
what are you talking about? to me, it's perfect! video 2 definitely sounded like rain but video 3 actually sounds like debris and sand. maybe i just don't have a good enough headset or i need to turn up the volume. in any case, please don't feel rushed to release it
Sadly, that wasn't gonna work anyway as I couldn't figure out how to not get the the newspapers and other debris to hid inside interiors (the dust I could, though), so I've reworked it into something similar in style that seems to be working out much better... No newspapers flying around, but got some even nicer dust billowing... Just tweaking to get it perfect now before I tweak Pollution/Toxic Rain a bit more, then the alternate version will be released... Pollution will be getting a similar, though much less aggressive and distant effect (possibly, assuming it works out)...

edit: here's what i'm seeing:
"light rain" has full wetness: https://ibb.co/fdCys8V
"toxic rain" has some minor puddles: https://ibb.co/rtmbzMj

And i use LUT legacy so is combite?

rain
heavy clouds
looks like in heavy clouds, it gets bigger but stays just as sharp/white as in rain.
