Added a new optional file that adds 30 new variants without any mounted weapons. You will be able to fire out of these using your regular guns. Note that you can't shoot through the front window in first person mode because of the armored Crystal Dome plating covering it. But you can shoot through it in third person. It reuses the icons and store images from the missile version. As making those would take an hour or two of work. I may do proper icons at some point. But for now these will be fine. The new weaponless variant is called the Type-66-B and sells for a lower price than the weapon equipped version. And has a lower street cred requirement.
I made this very quickly and have only done minimal testing on some variants. So there may be a very tiny chance i accidentally deleted a component or two too many 😅
Big thumbs up for this preem nova mod! I loved the old Change Your Favorite Cars mod that first time offered the green ghost horse Aldecado skin for the Javelina. Back then I thought this can't be more dope. But with your mod and Enhanced Vehicle System I found even more fun with the Javelina! So thank you all for your amazing work modding is really nice game! A question though. I found that on the missile varriant you replaced the position of the indicator lights. On the old varriant it was on the place of the horse decal eye part if was badass that way. But I guess I trade that for the mini MLRS on the back without hesitation! :D
I see now I understand your decision. BTW I hope you are still rolling here and decide to update this amazing mod for 2.2 as this update yet again broke countless things...:( Thanks again and sry for the late reply!
Did the latest version break the mod? I haven't gotten around to testing it yet. As i need to update... a lot of other mods just to get the game running... lol..
My favorite car, but the only thing that bothers me are the missile launcher position. I'm not a car guy but in my head the exhaust heat and explosion would make the missile launcher overheat and the missile itself explode. Not a situation a merc in NC would like (and imagine the word on the street that a guy just explode his car while driving because he put a missile launcher on top of his exhaust) 😂
Damn man how are you even getting it to work? I try using the console command like I used to but it adds a vehicle in my vehicle list sure, but the issue is that it says "Test" and it just shows a completely different vehicle. Maybe I need to try buying it through the web browser? So weird I'd think the console command should work... How did you add yours to your vehicle list?
I tried it and it doesn't seem to work, the cars don't seem to have their name, model or image attached, probably fixable if someone knows the syntax's, but its not working at the moment.
Hiho, amazing car, really well made. d=====( ̄▽ ̄*)b Just one question. How can I change the engine sound, since there is no "player_audio_resource" in the .yaml? Would be outstanding to have it sound like the Charon from PL. (⌐■_■) Thx
edit: Got it from another great modder. Just add "player_audio_resource:" under the line "Vehicle.vcd_px_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad:" and one of the following after it.
Getting the correct description was tricky indeed. But adding it was quite simple. That's why I wrote it down, in case anyone else wants to change it. ;)
I don't suppose you could make a version that improves the handling. A big reason I never use the nomad type-66 Quadra (aside from the terrible first-person view, xD) was its atrocious handling. Normal Type-66 Quadras handle pretty decently, and I absolutely LOVE the handling from the Mizutani Samum, can easily weave through traffic without accidentally spinning out of control. Just like with the Archer Quartz "sidewinder" the nomad Type-66 loves to drift, to the point it has almost no tire traction, so you can't weave through traffic at high speeds. It seems that the CPR wanted to make it easy to drift in the vehicle, but any decent driver will know how to drift with most vehicles. I can still drift with the Samum, actually I can drift better with it because I am the one initiating the drift. Anyway, I hope you consider modifying the stats of your standalone version, perhaps increasing the top speed, (I use proper MPH measurements, so even with car modification shop, the car only tops out at 110. Most family sedans can do that tho. xD...) And perhaps give it similar handling to the Mizutani Samum. Regardless, love the color designs, and obviously, the missiles. LoL! Seems weird to me they didn't make a version with missiles from the start. o.O
No, i have no interest in modifying that. If you want to change the values yourself, you could use the Cyber Vehicle Overhaul mod and make your own changes to the nomad type-66 tweaks it has and just add the vehicle IDs from this mod to it.
For example in the quadra_type66_javelina_tweak.lua file you will find the section: --Setting the data to specified vehicles VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings(fullVehicleName, VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) --VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.q114_quadra_type66_nomad", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) --VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.q000_nomad_v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_quest", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.cs_savable_quadra_type66_nomad", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_player", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_quest", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_wraith", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
Simply add a new line under that with the vehicle IDs from the above sticky post so it would look something like this: VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.vcd_px_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad.nightrider", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false) And that will apply the handling changes to this mods variants. And you are then free to tweak the values in the files however you want.
It sounds like you have some driving overhaul. I've tried out the upgrades in Car Modification Shop and it got to higher acceleration and top speed than the batmobile Caliburn. Not sure what speedometer you're using but the default game one shows like 275 kph top speed without any modifications. With all upgrades it's going over 300, haven't actually tested that far because honestly, at those accelerations and speeds, cars become unguided missiles. and Javelina is a preem car only requiring stage 1 or 2 tire upgrade to be a great city vehicle (if you know how to drive lol).
Tire grip in Tire mods, and Swaybar Stiffness in Suspension mods make the car more controllable while turning in the cities. Just don't crank tire grip above 1.02 or so or you'll stop drifting at all and that's no fun. 0.98-1.02 (for Jevelina that is stage 1 or stage 2 tire grip) seem to be the sweet pot depending on engine/ecu/transmission upgrades to allow you to drift turn without spinning out of control. For that oldschool NeedForSpeed muscle car feel
Completely fine for me too. Maybe you have some deprecated handling overhaul that messes with it?
I can even fully modify it with Car Modification Shop, which I honestly didn't expect. I'm guessing it inherits all driving stats of normal Javelina. I recommend stage 1 or 2 tires and stage 1 brakes. You can go for ALL the upgrades, but the car becomes pretty much an unguided missile at that point. Might work on a controller, but on keyboard, pushing W for more than a second and a half just makes you crash in 200+ kph :D
The only pet peeve is that the rocket launcher's lock-on targeting only switches on IN COMBAT, aka out of combat your first salvo is basically blind and only hits by sheer luck. When in combat it starts locking on targets. Might be a vanilla issue, it's been over a year since I had a car with a launcher so I don't remember, and I think back then I didn't even try using rockets on gangoons, only when police was chasing me..
Hi, do you think you could add a feature (or maybe an entirely new mod) that fixes the car windows of the Type-66 cars flashing constantly when driving in first person? This wasn't a problem in recent patches, but now all the "CrystalDome" cars like the Type-66 Hoon and Caliburn have this problem. This is happening in a fresh, unmodded playthrough as well.

Unless there is something I'm missing
Just one question. How can I change the engine sound, since there is no "player_audio_resource" in the .yaml?
Would be outstanding to have it sound like the Charon from PL. (⌐■_■)
Thx
edit: Got it from another great modder.
Just add
"player_audio_resource:"
under the line
"Vehicle.vcd_px_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad:"
and one of the following after it.
For example:
Vehicle.vcd_px_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_missiles:
$base: Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_tribute
player_audio_resource: v_car_quadra_sport_r7_rocket
v_car_quadra_type_66
v_car_quadra_type_66_avenger
v_car_quadra_type_66_ncu
v_car_quadra_type_66_nomad
v_car_quadra_type_66_rogue
Thats standard (640TS), avenger, Cthulhu, Javelina (which this mod uses) and Mistral, in that order.
For example in the quadra_type66_javelina_tweak.lua file you will find the section:
--Setting the data to specified vehicles
VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings(fullVehicleName, VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
--VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.q114_quadra_type66_nomad", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
--VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.q000_nomad_v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_quest", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.cs_savable_quadra_type66_nomad", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_player", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_quest", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.v_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad_wraith", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
Simply add a new line under that with the vehicle IDs from the above sticky post so it would look something like this:
VehicleBaseFunctions.setVehicleSettings("Vehicle.vcd_px_sport2_quadra_type66_nomad.nightrider", VehicleEngineData, VehicleDriveModelData, VehicleDataPackage, VehicleWheelDimensionsSetup, false)
And that will apply the handling changes to this mods variants. I can even fully modify it with Car Modification Shop, which I honestly didn't expect. I'm guessing it inherits all driving stats of normal Javelina.
