r.TextureStreaming=0 ; disable streaming system, making the game load in everything instead - increases load times a lot, but also helps improve performance a lot too! game default = 1 r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1 ; game default = 0 r.Streaming.HLODStrategy=2 ; forces all LOD mips to be loaded rather than streamed. game default = 0
These lines made the game work like absolute trash when going into certain caves and etc. Removing them fixed any actual performance issues I was running into... So on top of making the game take longer to load, it did not improve performance, it made performance worse. And yes, on an SSD.
i copy the game files in the mod folder but when i start the game, the files are not being used(i could delete the mod files when game was running meaning they were not being used by the game) and the mod wont work, is there any fix for that?
This should not have "performance" in title description as it is misleading. Visuals has really improved but the performance hit is critical to the point of unplayable with mid range RTX30s on 1440p 21:9. im guessing anyone above 3070ti wont have much issue though.
I have a 3070ti and both before and after installing this mod along with the E3FX mod, my average FPS has been 200+. I do play at 1080p and I also re-enabled texture streaming. I have no reason to disable in on my GPU, it was causing no issues and I don't want the increased loading time this mod gives. One of the things I love about upgrading from a 1660 super to a 3070ti is how fast games load.
If you don't mind my asking, how did you get the E3FX mod to work? I tried it and it crashes my game on startup, and the newest comment on the mod page was like 3 months old saying it crashed their game too.
well, even with my rtx it hits 100fps on 1080p 16:9. 1440p 21:9 has way more pixels. But I do assume your GPU will still out put playable fps even on this resolution.
I just followed the installation process. If your playing on high res with some rtx 3060, it will probably crash. If your playing on 1080p or your GPU is some power house, you should try re-installing this mod from step 1. Make sure to back up your engine config!!
I tried this out for a whole run. Visual changes are a personal preference, just not for me, and that's fine, but this tanks my performance at inopportune times and I had no issues before installing, and it seems to have the same effect for a lot of other users, so you might wanna take a look at the performance end of this again.

edit:(fixed)
