    Lt.Speirs' Realism Mod (v3)

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Lt.Speirs has outdone himself yet again with this incredibly intense update to his CoD2 single-player realism mod. It focuses on parts of the gameplay with which no other mod has ever dabbled, so you're sure to get something new here! All I can say is that you just have to read the list of new things below; you might even consider checking out the full ReadMe for extended details. Once you do, trust me, you'll want to take the time and play this mod ASAP Battle Chatter system fixed and updated (no continuously repeated death messages and AI tactics) Most levels have more characters on screen (you can have anywhere between 10 and 35 guys with you) The Du Hoc defense level has the tempo of the last battle of Saving Private Ryan (many lost men and ground) Realistic allocation of NCOs (1 Sergeant and 1 Corporal per 10 Privates) Various map-based changes NCOs for the Americans (unlocked Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Corporal uniforms for the Americans -- the AI will even call out ranks from time to time) WCP's Allied Pain mod -- where would realism be without WCP? 69 new death and pain sounds for AI WCP's Tracer mod Realistic grenade blast radii Realistic suppression system Realistic AI aiming -- NPCs no longer take ineffective 'pot shots' -- cover is your saving grace -- you can't lone wolf it most of the time; you must rely on your comrades for fire direction, covering fire, ammo, or at the worst moments... bait Updated faces for all countries The game is now up to 10 times louder in some areas for realistic war sounds Realistic weapon characteristics Frame rate booster New weapons sounds from WCP's sound mod and various other games Realistic skins from various developers like DeltaForceOperator, Rusty, etc. -- all credit goes to them

  • Make CoD2 Server (v1.1)

    Make CoD2 Server (v1.1)

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Here's a great new program for users wishing to run servers quickly from their own computers, locally or publicly for internet use (in the latter case, you'll have to retrieve your public IP). It features everything you need to get started, all centralized in one easy-to-use and physically small location, so you're set to go with this program! You just enter your IP, specify the location of your CoD2MP_s.exe file, fix up the settings of the server, and click the "Start New Server" button. Couldn't be any easier than that. Just check out the screenshots below to see what I mean, and download this awesome tool today! NOTE: This file has been reposted due to an error in the previous post.

Here's the latest and presumably the last release of Mr. Ifafudafi's CoD2 single-player blood mod, Bloodlust. I admit, I haven't been keeping up with what the mod has to offer, but that's why they have "what's new" sections in the ReadMe files. • No Dust Mod (v2)

    No Dust Mod (v2)

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Here's a convenient little mod by Vector Akashi for players with lower-end computers. As the name suggests, the mod will remove all sorts of dust-like ambience from the maps in CoD2; this includes dust (duh), fog, smoke, and other such things. He boasts that it can boost your FPS by anywhere from 20-40 frames, which is ideal for a game like CoD2, of course. What's new in this version is that it also works with CoD2 v1.2, so you shouldn't have any worries about compatibility! And on a final note, let's make this clear that this isn't a cheat because it requires both the server and the client to have the .iwd file. With all that in mind, download this nice little No Dust Mod now!

    Last Update: 20 Apr 2016

Ferry's got some awesome new Afrika Korps skins for the CoD2 Germans. He says they're updated versions of the old ones, but I couldn't find any other DAK skins by Ferry anywhere on this site, so who knows? Whatever the case, these are incredibly well-detailed skins with excellent new bump maps to boot. I love how he's bump-mapped the different decals, as it really gives the characters that special boost in realism for their uniform decorations; you'll have to check out the screenshots to see what I mean! Well, what are you waiting for? Have a look at the skins below, and download them now!

The idea is there and the mod is done well, so if you want a new feel to your CoD2 single-player campaigns, check out the screenshots below of this cool new mod and download it now!

  • Donation Points system now live for mod authors on Nexus Mods

Back in December I announced our intention to create and release a system that provided some modest rewards to mod authors on Nexus Mods.

It's taken us a bit longer to implement than we initially anticipated, but I am happy to announce that from today, any mod authors on Nexus Mods will be able to opt their files into our Donation Points system.

The premise of the Donation Points (DP) system is relatively simple on the surface. Each month Nexus Mods will donate a set amou...

Bounced emails are bad for us as they are expensive to deal with on our email delivery platform and ultimately, if you are using the wrong email address or an email address that does not work/exist any more then you will n...

For over a year now we've been working on a mod manager to replace the ailing Nexus Mod Manager. The premise was simple, attempt to combine the simplicity of the Nexus Mod Manager with the advanced functionality of Mod Organizer and create something that is accessible to all types of modders. Back in May of 2017 we named this replacement "Vortex" and we aimed for a January 2018 release date.

With that in mind, the full release of Vortex is alm...

  • We're Hiring: Vortex developer

Last year we set up our first office for Nexus Mods and began the process of relocating as many of the current staff as possible into the new environment.

As part of this process, we now have a job opening at Nexus Mods working on our Vortex software with Tannin, which is replacing the Nexus Mod Manager.

This position is based in our offices in Exeter in the UK, which I know limits our available recruiting pool from the sites, but I always post our job openings up on the ...

A belated Merry Christmas and a happy new year to everybody!

We've been quiet in our news section recently as we've been busily working away on the site redesign and Vortex development, but the new year brings the perfect chance to update you on what happened last year and what we're working on in 2018.

  • Mod Author Donation System

While a few of the developers continue to work on the new site design, fixing up bugs, improving page load time performance and responding to useful critiques and suggested improvements to the UI and UX from users, I wanted to take some time out to announce a new feature that a few of our other developers are currently working on that we plan to launch in the first quarter of 2018. A new year's resolution of sorts, if you will.

The new functionality I want to talk about today is...

  • PC Modding Race Giveaway! We have tons of games and gear to give away from GOG.com, CORSAIR, and MSI!

In celebration of our new site design, we have teamed up with GOG.com, CORSAIR, MSI, and PCMasterRace to share our love for PC gaming worldwide through a massive giveaway! Before we get into the juicy details though, I wanted to take a quick trip down memory lane and look at some of the previous designs we've used at Nexus Mods before reaching this point.

Since its initial founding in 2001, Nexus Mods has been through many incarnations. It all started with Morrowind Chronicles, a fan...

  • Redesign Launch - Stage 2 in progress

We're currently implementing stage 2 of our redesign soft launch process and as such, you might experience a few oddities and/or get thrown about a bit between the old and new designs as we gradually implement the changes and stress test things.

Stage 2 is moving the nexusmods.com domain over to the new design so by default, users will be on the new design. During this time we're still allowing users to access the old website design via https://old.nexusmods.com.

    If durin...

  • An update on Vortex development

It's time for a Vortex development update!

Since our last news post back in May we have setup a focus group of around 30 individuals who have been given access to an early build alpha of Vortex using a rudimentary design and UX flow. Tannin has been working with these users, taking on their feedback and patching up bugs that have been found over the past couple of months. At this stage, the core functionality is all done and now it's a matter of rounding off any rough ed...

  • New Nexus Mods design launched

    Hello everyone,

The time is almost upon us as we near the official release of our redesign. We're now ready to share the redesign with all of you in the hopes that you can help us in identifying the remaining issues before we officially go live and change the site over.

We're doing a very soft launch of this redesign. In September we provided the mod authors with access to the new site to receive their feedback and bug hunting help and a few weeks ago we provide...

  • Mod Spotlight: Frosty Tool Suite

    Frosty Tool Suite
The Frostbite Engine is one of the most powerful game engines around, and the backbone of many of the most popular games. Unless you only play indie games, you've likely played a game running on the Frostbite Engine. Up until recently, however, modding Frostbite Engine games was a daunting task (and by daunting I mean near-impossible).

When GalaxyMan2015 (known as Ehamloptiran here on Nexus Mods) couldn't find the tools to dig into the Frostbite Engin...

  • Staff Picks - 07 June 2017

This week we have enlisted the help of one of our moderators, Jokerine, to fill in for BlindJudge while he is away. Our guest submission adds a unique and lore-friendly set of armor to Morrowind and I'll be trying to beat the summer heat in Stardew Valley!
