Lt.Speirs' Realism Mod (v3)
Lt.Speirs has outdone himself yet again with this incredibly intense update to his CoD2 single-player realism mod. It focuses on parts of the gameplay with which no other mod has ever dabbled, so you're sure to get something new here! All I can say is that you just have to read the list of new things below; you might even consider checking out the full ReadMe for extended details. Once you do, trust me, you'll want to take the time and play this mod ASAP!

    • Battle Chatter system fixed and updated (no continuously repeated death messages and AI tactics)
    • Most levels have more characters on screen (you can have anywhere between 10 and 35 guys with you)
    • The Du Hoc defense level has the tempo of the last battle of Saving Private Ryan (many lost men and ground)
    • Realistic allocation of NCOs (1 Sergeant and 1 Corporal per 10 Privates)
    • Various map-based changes
    • NCOs for the Americans (unlocked Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Corporal uniforms for the Americans -- the AI will even call out ranks from time to time)
    • WCP's Allied Pain mod -- where would realism be without WCP?
    • 69 new death and pain sounds for AI
    • WCP's Tracer mod
    • Realistic grenade blast radii
    • Realistic suppression system
    • Realistic AI aiming -- NPCs no longer take ineffective 'pot shots' -- cover is your saving grace -- you can't lone wolf it most of the time; you must rely on your comrades for fire direction, covering fire, ammo, or at the worst moments... bait
    • Updated faces for all countries
    • The game is now up to 10 times louder in some areas for realistic war sounds
    • Realistic weapon characteristics
    • Frame rate booster
    • New weapons sounds from WCP's sound mod and various other games
    • Realistic skins from various developers like DeltaForceOperator, Rusty, etc. -- all credit goes to them

Bloodlust CoD2SP Mod (Final v1.0.0)
WARNING: The following mod contains extreme amounts of blood and gore and is not recommended for players under 18 years of age.

Here's the latest and presumably the last release of Mr. Ifafudafi's CoD2 single-player blood mod, Bloodlust. I admit, I haven't been keeping up with what the mod has to offer, but that's why they have "what's new" sections in the ReadMe files. See the screenshots below, and check out that ReadMe for details on what this final version update entails.

Ferry's Afrika Korps Skins (V2.0)
Ferry's got some awesome new Afrika Korps skins for the CoD2 Germans. He says they're updated versions of the old ones, but I couldn't find any other DAK skins by Ferry anywhere on this site, so who knows? Whatever the case, these are incredibly well-detailed skins with excellent new bump maps to boot. I love how he's bump-mapped the different decals, as it really gives the characters that special boost in realism for their uniform decorations; you'll have to check out the screenshots to see what I mean! Well, what are you waiting for? Have a look at the skins below, and download them now!

    The Great Thumbnail Rebuild

    posted by MrMason Site News
We have been gearing up for some time to get ready to rebuild the thumbnails for over 2.5 million images that you’ve all uploaded over the years so that they are a much higher quality for the new website design that we've been working on.

We kicked off this rebuilding process at the start of last week, and it is now complete. The higher quality thumbnails may take some time to filter down through our various CDN providers as they are heavily cached.

Some of you may have noticed over the last few weeks a few subtle changes that we've made to the way thumbnail images are displayed on the websit ...(continue reading the full article)

This week we have some cracking picks for you all to take a look at. SirSalami has found an incredible dodge mod for Skyrim that not only adds an ability for you to dodge attacks, but also your enemies. We have a name! And a Q&A session with Tannin regarding the new mod mana...

    posted by Dark0ne Site News
It's been awhile since we mentioned our work on the new mod manager. For a quick recap of "recent" events, back in August 2016 we brought on Tannin (of Mod Organizer fame) to head up work on a completely new mod manager for Nexus Mods. He's been working on it along with the two original NMM programmers ever since.

Tannin's remit is simple on the surface, we want a mod manager for Nexus Mods that can handle modding for as many games as possible and that can be both simple for newcomers to use while containing (or supporting) all the advanced functionality users have come to expect from mod manag ...(continue reading the full article)

    Staff Picks - 03 May 2017

    posted by BlindJudge Feature
This week they are all picks from within our Bethesda games. Terrorfox couldn't decide on just one mod, so has actually chosen 4 from the same author, all of which add additional beasties or variants of into your Skyrim game. I have chosen a mod that I think really adds a bit of variety to an otherwise annoying (but necessary) part of gaming - fast travel. SirSalami has also addressed one of his gaming pet-peeves of only being able to save a game from retiring to a bed by looking at a mod that allows far more diversity in save locations. Finally, our community member iMACobra has selected a mo ...(continue reading the full article)
