About this mod

Fight For Your Life Lands is a huge mod for Borderlands 2.

Main goal of this mod is to increase game difficulty, change the way you play the game, provide new experience, add more items to the game.
And to make the game less boring in general.

  • Russian
The mod changes the game in many ways.
The mod changes some Enemies, "adds" new Guns, New Skills, Shields, Class mods, Difficulty Changes.

Read more about changes below.

  • The mod was balanced around 'Nightmare' difficulty by default.
  • This mod is not using Borderlands 2 SDK. (Because im not familiar with it and, as far as i know, because it's incompatible with co-op)
  • This mod was designed for 2+ players co-op in mind. But still playable in solo.

- Some changes may be controversial (Such as melee attack speed, some call it "Artifical difficulty", or some additional Badass Psycho spawns in the early-game locations).
- You can tune enemy attack speed down with Mod Community Manager (MCM) to not be so annoying.

About 'Stolen mods' drama that used to come from ShadowEvil discord back then :

Spoiler:
Show

   - Yes, back in 2018 i used to include some mods from others and not credit them when i was young and dumb. And i regret it. The mod still uses some mods from other authors that are credited. And, unfortunately, may still use some minor mods from others.

    - I used mods from others because i was learning how to mod/wanted to include them in my mod list because i found them cool (Such as Omnicanon weapon). Or simply because something that i wanted to implement was already created. For example, If i'd enable additional fast travels by myself now, could it be called a stolen mod\plagiarism because this mod already exists? I'm honestly unsure.

    - And no, I wasn't doing that on a purpose to piss them off / become an evil guy that steals mods. And i do realize that it was a dick move. And i do regret it.

    - It all happened because back then i was un-talkative sociophobe: it was a big quest to just DM a person that i don't know and ask for a permission all outta nowhere. I really regret that.

    - I received Mod stealer mark after removing some mods from FFYLands, and, as a result, removing authors of said mods from credits (Old me thought something like 'Why credit them when i'm not using their mods anymore?'. Old me is an idiot.)

    - Some time After that i got contacted by Mopioid and was told that my stuff will be removed from Github & Nexus Page will be taken down. < -(Clickable). I tried to ask which mods i'm using without permission to remove them and fix this mess, but got no response. I was ready to fix what i've done. And i'm still ready to do it. The problem is: how can i possibly remove something/ask for a permission/contact the author when i don't know about it and there was no attempts to contact me and talk about it either in the first place? If there's stolen mods, why mod authors aren't contacting me and asking to remove them/add to credits?

    - Not even to mention that not each 'he stole this mod' claim may be true.

    - After this incident i never took mods of others and did all changes by myself from my head. It was a harsh lesson. A lesson learned 4 years ago.

    - However, it's really demoralizing to see the posts about my mod being 'full of stolen mods' and me being a mod thief since it's barely true anymore. Even if 'it's full of stolen mods' statement would be true (and it's not), the amount of stolen mods would be extremely small and less than 1% of what i've done for all these 4 years of creating this mod. So it feels like a slap to the face each time i read that.

    - Additionally, claims like 'he stole a bunch of content and also stole from this mod' are really getting annoying. It may be surprising, but Borderlands 2 modding is very limited unless you use SDK and there's not a lot of ways to do the same idea. Additionally, it may be shocking and impossible, but two people may have the same idea. Such as Rarity colors/item rarity color sorting. I know, it's hard to believe it. Sometimes i feel like people on ShadowEvil discord just hate me for the sake of hating me without even checking if it's true or not, telling the Streamers not to play my mod because it's "Full of stolen mods". Make sure it's 100% true first and provide proofs, only then blame me/claim that it's stolen.

    - People just don't care that i spent 4+ years on this mod and wasted a lot of hours, months of my life to develop it further and improve it (Even though it still could be better and i see many of my mistakes now). Nor that they know or care though. I have over 3500 hours in Borderlands 2 just from modding. Isn't it a bit...unfair?... (even though i deserved it)

    - My point is - everyone can make a mistake, and i'm not an exception. I apologize towards mod authors that i've disrespected with my actions. I wasn't doing it with an evil intention.

    - But, the sad truth be told, the mod is so huge that i may still have some mods in. I'm developing this mod alone for 4+ years after all. And it's really hard to remember everything, especially if it's a minor mod that was added in the beginning of the creation cycle of this huge mod.
    -  The BLCM is not messy because it's full of stolen mods, it's because i'm an disorganized person in general and i navigate with CTRL + F through it.

     - If you, as a mod author, found your mod inside FFYLands and it's not credited, please - contact me [Gab3m3#7972] and we will figure out what to do: either add you to Credits and apologize to you (if you're fine with me using it), or remove it from the mod. Or something else. It's up to you. I'm open to fix the mess that i've started.

I've created a Discord server for FFYL mod.
You can talk about balance issues and many other stuff in my discord server.

Update: There's also a page with all gear drops sources from this mod< Click it]

Update 2: There's also a FFYLands wiki [< Click it]
Update 3: There is a translated version of FFYLands for Russian Players [Click]

  •    You cannot obtain strong\most (98%) legendary gear until you hit Enemy lvl 49. Some 'early-game' legendaries can still be obtained from Quests \ Warrior.
  • Changed all Vault Hunters. They have changed or even new skills. Also they have passive bonuses.
  • Slot machines were improved. They have better drop rates.
  • All vault hunters move and crouch faster in general (By around 15%).
  • All Vault Hunters can aim in FFYL (Except Salvador, he's too cool for that).
  • Most bosses are harder now. You should be prepared for battle. Matching element is important thing now.
  • Op levels are more rewarding. Op levels increase chance to obtain Legendary and Pearl gear for each 2 OP levels (2, 4, 6, 8)
  • No health gate. Shotguns may one shot you, Grog Nozzle won't make you immortal anymore. Kill or be killed.
  • Game breaking glitches were fixed (Pimphab, etc)
  • Raid bosses are hard. Be ready to suffer if you'll try to kill them in solo. Maybe NPC's were right when they offered you to bring some friends?
  • So, don't try to farm for legendaries while you're not level 50. You will only waste your time.
  • You can find Unique weapons like Grog Nozzle from any source at any level.
  • Enemies were changed overall: they have better gear, they act faster, their melee attack speed was increased. Some enemies were changed into new ones.
  • No badass Rank bonuses. Don't ask me how to enable them back.
  • Some visual changes were made.
  • "Added" \ changed a lot of weapons, shields and etc
  • Legendary and Pearl gear was changed: They received Rarity Tiers, their amount was increased overall. There's more than 50 pearls in the game.
  •        Legendaries: Early-Game > Mid-Game > End-Game
  •        Pearls: Common > Uncommon > Rare > Very Rare > Semi-Rarest > Rarest
  •        Pearl drops are locked until you hit required level for specific rarity.
  •        It was done to make progression smooth and to not throw OP gear at the player right away
  •        - Common\Uncommon: Lvl 54+
  •         -Rare:                               Lvl 62+
  •         -Very Rare:                      Lvl 74+
  •        -Semi-Rarest \ Rarest:    Lvl 82 [op2]+
  •  P.s: Don't expect a lot of smart red text's with references to JoJo and other stuff. My goal was to create a gun, not red text.

  •  Warning! do not use FFYL character without FFYL mod! Some weapons WILL disappear if you do so!
  • Don't forget to exec FFYL!
  •  DO NOT USE UCP WITH THIS MOD! most problems are coming from using UCP. [UCP = Unofficial Community Patch]
  •  DO NOT USE MORE CHESTS ON PANDORA WITH THIS MOD! It is already included and balanced for FFYLands.
  •  I don't recommend installing other gear mods, weapons, etc. It will be pretty weak and not balanced for my mod.
  •  Borderlands 2 RU is not supported and not guaranteed to work as intended with FFYLands.
  •  You should play this mod by creating new character and starting new game
  •  This mod already has newest version of UCP -  do not use it with this mod!
  • The mod was balanced around Nightmare difficulty.
  • It is recommended to play it in Co-op.

                                                                                                                  [Recommended Mods]

[Issues]
  •  Sometimes your friends in co-op won't see changed skill tree. Fix: friend should exit to main menu, execute mod again, and then join to you.
  •  If you are playing co-op, then your friends MUST have this mod installed too.
  •  If game is too hard for you, then you can reduce animation speed in optionals [BLCMM] [For weaklings]
  •  I won't answer questions like 'How to enable badass rank', etc. I also don't welcome skill tree modifications and other stuff
  • This mod does not requires any DLC. However, many new guns and shields were created by using other DLC's.
  • This mod increases loading times to about 10-15 seconds (Because this mod is huge)
  • You can use BLCMM to change mod (Change Difficulty, turn off some Optional Changes)

[Misc]

Offtop:
  • Sometimes this mod can be too hard, especially in Digi-Peak area. This is why it is RECOMMENDED to be played in co-op
  • In solo mode you will probably suffer
  • You can even ragequit
  • Bosses will restore their hp, you will die over and over
  • Be ready for it if you are playing this mod in solo
  • You may not like some difficulty changes ['Artifical Animation speed, 2hard4me, mod sucks >:(', can't kill enemies with white guns >:(], but it's up to you.
  • Some bosses can destroy you. [And force you to ragequit]
  • Make sure to be prepared with a good gear before going to a Willhelm as example.
  • This mod is not designed for modifications in BLCMM.
  • But you can still select optional changes in 'Optional Changes' section [BLCMM]
  • Recommended to play without other global mods (To avoid conflicts)
  • But if you decided to play with other mods [I hope it's just QOL mods] - then put FFYLands last in mod order list.

Offtop 2:

  • This is not a modpack. It's a global mod.
  • This mod is named FFYLands because FFYLands is shortened from Fight For Your Life lands.
  • You will be in Fight for your life a lot.
  • Originally idea for Mod name came from my friend: "call this mod FFYL simulator"
