If I f***ed anything up regarding the new guide or preset please let me now. I admit I haven't tested this one as much. Should be okay though. :D Bonus comparison! https://imgsli.com/MTg0MjY
Odd that it didn't work correctly, here you go though Also fyi you can check yourself actually, open the preset with a text editor and look for "Techniques="
I don't know how to fix this. It's likely due to ReShade recompiling the Shaders when you tab back in Borderless Windowed is your best bet. I recommend using SpecialK for a great fps limiter which can reduce latency. It's got other potentially useful tools too. If you wanna have a read on what it can do: https://wiki.special-k.info/en/FAQ The same site has a guide on how to use ReShade with SK.
how can i download the pirate shaders? i think i downloaded the right ones but i doesnt have eny of them enabled when i enable the preset. this is the one i downloaded - https://github.com/Heathen/Pirate-Shaders
Huh, weird. You could try using the newest ReShade version, i'll link it in the description. If you wanna uninstall, run the installer again and select Borderlands2. Should give you the option to uninstall.
Thank you for the quick response! I downloaded the latest version of ReShade and repeated the installation process. When I engaged the overlay in game, however, none of your presets were selected. The previous error messages weren't there, but I did encounter an error message as I was clicking through each option...prod80_06_ChromaticAbberation.fx failed to compile
At any rate, I got it looking pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's as good as yours. :P
Hi there, was trying to install this and was wondering if things have changed since this was last updated? I can't find more than half of the things I'm supposed to check in ReShade. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I was just extremely tired when I tried doing this all hahaha. Got it working now, thanks for this! Although I must say any menu is quite dark in comparison to normal play. Is that just me?
Glad you got it working, haha. And yeah, the Menu got darker for me as well. That's because I use a shader that darkens things from a set distance. That's how I got the night sky so dark and the fog less bright. When entering a menu, ReShade loses the depth values from the game world and gets it from the UI instead. And since there isnt much depth it just darkens it. :x Nothing I or you can do, other than hotkeying "ContrastBrightnessSaturation" to tab or whatever you use to open your menu. That explanation was probably oversimplified, but thats about what happens lol.
Thanks for the response, it's a shame about the menu! The entire thing actually stopped working for me the moment I updated ReShade lol. I'm unable to use yours now since the new version doesn't allow me to add the repositories and so it's missing stuff :S
Just updating shouldn't delete the shaders you already downloaded though, lol. Does it really not work or are you just assuming it won't? :D Especially because even if it did, the only shader missing would be deblur. All other shaders are in repo's that are listed in the 4.6.x installer https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Mortalitas/GShade/master/Shaders/Deblur.fx if it's missing somehow. Save as deblur.fx, put in in reshade-shaders\Shaders in your Borderlands 2 folder and you'er good
"Mortalitas/GShade-Shaders" repository isn't working? The url itself at github obviously works, Clicking "Add Repository" only results in the text going red and no new list.
I also have no idea where the .ini file comes in, unless it becomes obvious at a stage I haven't gotten to.
Sorry, I fixed it now. Should be Mortalitas/GShade. It must have changed, because I literally copied this out of my installers .ini and it worked back then. Oh and drop the preset .ini into the games .exe folder. You can just select it from the ReShade overlay ingame
Mortalitas works now (Though you should edit whatever "lightroom" is in the instructions because I only found "qUINT_lightroom.fx"), but when I launched the game, the prod80 repository fiiles failed to compile. The log gave messages like: preprocessor error: could not open included file 'H:\Games...\Binaries\Win32\reshade-shaders\Shaders\RedShadeUI.fxh\' H:\Games...\Binaries\Win32\reshade-shaders\Shaders\PD80_03_Shadows_Midtones_Highlights.fx(39, 1): error X3000: syntax error:unexpected 'identifier', expected '='
I have no idea where to find the log outside of the overlay. I looked at the fx files and found nothing wrong-looking about the code itself, but the identifiers "luma_mode" and "blendmode" were the only correlation I could find between the errors. Other than that, I understand that you're supposed to put the .ini file into the \Win32, but am I supposed to rename it to something else or just leave it there and the overlay will find it?
It should just find it. It will most likely select the default one first though, so you've got to change it in the overlay by just clicking on the preset name at the top. A dropdown menu will open with every .ini in that folder. As for the compiling error, I didn't encounter something like this myself, but it could it be that ReShadeUI.fxh is simply missing or corrupted? I wouldn't know a reason why it couldn't be opened otherwise. Try saving this to reshade-shaders\Shaders by pressing ctrl+s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/crosire/reshade-shaders/master/Shaders/ReShadeUI.fxh I'll edit the descritption as well to make things more clear. Hope this fixes the issue, if not let me know. :) Edit: I didn't even tell people where to put the preset.ini.. Man I must've been really tired, sorry.
"Afterwards a window with a list of shaders will pop up. Uncheck all and add the following repositories: prod80/prod80-ReShade-Repository, Mortalitas/GShade-Shaders"
uh there is no option letting me add stuff
and the whole thing just closed/crashed when i clicked on Edit ReShade settings and tried to load your ini file
ReShade updated yesterday and changed how shaders are downloaded, thats why theres no option anymore I'll edit the download link to a previous version.. And you can just drop the preset in the folder where the exe is, that works too. just gotta select it in the overlay then.

Preset 1
Techniques=Lightroom,prod80_03_Shadows_Midtones_Highlights,prod80_04_ContrastBrightnessSaturation,prod80_03_Levels,RTGlobalIllumination,prod80_02_Bloom,Deblur,SMAA,ContrastAdaptiveSharpen
Preset 2
"Techniques=Deblur,SMAA,ContrastAdaptiveSharpen,Lightroom,prod80_03_Shadows_Midtones_Highlights,prod80_03_Levels,RTGlobalIllumination,prod80_02_Bloom"
Edit: Reshade bugged with this game. Have to run the game in borderless-windowed mode, or the game will crash when maximized from minimized state.
Borderless Windowed is your best bet.

The shader mentioned isn't used, can be ignored.
