um should the weapons+ & jk varient db have a bunch of 0 values when the weapons + db has values filled in for the Weapondefs table? https://imgur.com/a/DFQVDpP
https://pastebin.com/XW2Rtpbr
Edit: i did some digging with the console Here is the Battletech console log for with milestone (black screen with fps counter) how it causes a network error is beyond me https://pastebin.com/Ut7YjugD And milestone removed (hung up on loading) https://pastebin.com/7WuWpmLm
2nd edit this looks this is a jk varient issue for me
3rd edit game is fine and stable when installing jk mods outside of mod tek and directly altering milestones jsons instead of using mod tek
Sorry to hear that Gunganator - if you'd like, I'll talk to @GenTech, see if he wants to help me with keeping this up to date with any updates (with full credit to you of course).
Hope everything comes together for you MechWarrior!
OK, if you're like me, you recently haven't been able to even get your game to come off of an infinite loading screen. Even a fresh install doesn't seem to be working.
Here's what you need to do:
Download the version prior to the ModTek update. Open the ZIP file. Navigate into the weapons section. In there, you will find a file: WeaponTemplate.json
Put this file in the weapons+/weapon directory.
This should solve the entire thing.
If you used this mod prior to ModTek, then the game uploaded a copy of your manifest to the server, and the reason a reinstall of this mod isn't working is the ModTek version doesn't contain that file.
I can't seem to get this to load with Mteck :/ It gets hung up on the main menu before the cinematic plays with what looks like an fps counter, and I get this error in the Modtek.log
Exception occurred while parsing type WeaponDef json at D:\Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH\Mods\weapons+\weapon\WeaponTemplate.json After parsing a value an unexpected character was encountered: ". Path 'DisallowedLocations', line 42, position 3.
Have you checked the logs for the error. This is why I didn't want to add modtek support personally. There is another layer of crap I have no control over. I know it works... for some reason the mod.json for the weapons ammo in the main file corked but i caught that hence the optional download. as for the rest of it it works.
Modtek didnt report any errors. I notice that the two json in the milestone folder both cause the fps glitch even when by themselves. I also notice that they are the last thing modtek loads.
I managed to get Skirmish to load the mechlab,(had the wrong Metadata file in) But I notice that the mod has not installed correctly (clearly) because i was getting new mechs with the same variants, with different almost incomplete load-outs.(with some of the weapon mods). Im going to clear everything and a tempt a reinstall. I'll let you know if i figure out what i was doing wrong.
The mod.joson file for the JK_Variants seems to be missing? Its not in the 1.52 zip. Opened the mod.Json for JK_WeaponAmmo and the contents look like it should be for the JK_Variants folder. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Looking forward to trying it out.
Doesn't work, it is unable to add files that are more than 1 folder deep. Been trying for the last 6 hours, and there are just some files it refuses to load.
data/mechdef/stupidmech.jsonwill work
data/contracts/assassinaton/stupidmission.json fails to load
Also this would require me to write 4 mod.json files and ask JK to structure his mod to be compatible with mine.
I am sorry that copying a .csv and .db file is such a PITA, but until modtek is further refined it is not happening
Thank you so much. The PITA part stems from the fact that your mod is not the only one I use. I've had to manually edit the versionmanifest.csv file every time. ModTek support saves me like an hour every time I want to add some new gear/the game updates.

Is the cause, looks like the game is failing to load the save files. do they work if you remove the mod and try load them?
It is no giving any refernece to the mods files, usually it states which file is causing the exception. the prior warning are some of the JK variants mechs I assume have loadout issues which I am sure he will fix so I dont touch those.
That error looks like its unable to load your portrait.........
I was looking at that too. If I restore the database and CSV then all my saves on the final planet/mission area load without any issues.
It must still be part of the mission is all can think of. and it's behaving like you have tried the mod the game half way through a mission.
Could be something with the final planet then maybe? i'll restore to un-modded and maybe fly away from the planet and do a mission or two and then try re-modding it. Thanks for the looking.
