do u accept character request? if yes can u add characters from RWBY? espescaly Team RWBY and Team JPNR? i mean their 4 man stucture fit for a la lance, arent they please and thank u
Oh this seems to be over my head - I'm thinking. Or I'm just not sure what I should download - do you have a link to a download site where I won't get a virus? LOL.
I tried downloading the db browser program - but it keeps spamming me back to Java - even though my java is fully updated...
The string is a unique “id” for the pilot in the database. It can be anything you like, i used 1234567890 for my first pilot and then 12345678901 for the next etc etc.
Tagset table needs the unique id in the tagsetid column and 6 in the tagsettypeid column.
Tagsettag table needs the unique id in the ledt column and the pilot tags from the pilots json in the right column.
Thanks again for all the help with this - but sadly It's not going to work out for me. Unfortunately I can't get dbbrowser to work on my computer and the other programs I have tried datagrip and db SQlite - can open the file and even export it to be edited - but cannot be re-imported without a ton of errors.
Most likely I just can't figure out how to use the programs correctly to make this work. So I will just stick with replacing backers and hope that customization options coming in June will allow custom portraits to be used in game.
It installed for me - but I can't launch it - I get a compatibility error with Java - says I need Java 1.4.0 - my Java is fully updated, and I also downloaded the version 1.4.0 - even with that installed to that version, I continuously get the error and the loop back to Java's website.
I tried another program too - SQLite - that seemed to be working as I could open the file. Unfortunately that too has errors - I could not add data too it without errors and I also tried exporting the data, editing it, and importing it - but sadly importing the data resulted in the same errors.
I tried Datagrip as well - but that was way over my head.
While it doesn't handle pilotdefs yet - https://www.nexusmods.com/battletech/mods/76 - I'm making an import tool that will import all the various defs. Right now it does Mechs and Vehicles. I'm working on Lances next, but I can add Pilots after that.
Ok you wish is my command :) Lances, Pilots, Mech and Vehicles now all working. Scans the VersionManifest.csv for available defs. Just give your custom pilots unique ids, add the defs to the VersionManifest.csv file, run my tool and import and they should become available like any other pilot.
Hey - right now they all replace the backers. I did try the editor with the pilotdefs - but I could not get the new pilots to show up in the editor when they were added to the csv. It is most likely something I'm doing wrong.
Then in converting the manifest file back to normal - comepletely broke the game - I had to resort to re-virifying the files and all that. I will probably try again this weekend. Otherwise we might just have to use them as backers until the new customization options are added to the game. I really hope the devs add the ability to import custom portraits - and don;t force us to use the in-game customizer.
***Brandonm did give me a very detailed reply on what I need to do to make this work - so will definitely try again this weekend.
In the meantime - I will get my Aliens merc pack ready: Ripley, Hudson, Hicks, and Vasquez. Maybe Newt as well?
Great job! I will not install only because of the fact that the existing pilots have been reworked, and not new ones have been added. We are looking forward to the new pilots!

Add new lines to pilotdef table, tagset table and tagsettag table.
Do I need any particular program to open that file?

I understand that includes the pilot file name, and the portrait name - but what does the string of data after that mean?
