About this mod
This is a small file that replaces the sound effects of PPCs, ACs and MGs, using Mechwarrior 4 sound effects to add to the game. The original sound effects for these weapons felt kind of weak to me, plus I missed that screeching PPC!

When I sat down and played BattleTech, I really did love it. Something I'd wanted to play for a long, long time. Unfortunately, one of the weaknesses for me was how.. Limp, some of the sound effects felt, at least in my opinion.
I felt like trying my hand at doing something about it. I am sure that very soon, far greater modders will make much better packs than this, but I felt that I might as well have a bit of fun and do it myself.
This terrible video shows the new effects in action. Currently, I have replaced:
PPCs (The screech is back!)
ACs (2, 5, 10, and 20!)
MGs (Because the pew pew felt kind of pathetic for a half tonne machine gun)
LRMs NEW!
SRMs NEW!
I am open to further replacements if people want them, but I felt that I should get this out now, rather than spend a while longer fussing over sound effects.
Installation:
Enclosed are four .BNK files. To install, first back up the corresponding files in your:
BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets\Audio\GeneratedSoundBanks\Windows folder. Otherwise, if you don't like it, it breaks, they patch some files in, etc. etc. you won't have any recourse.
Next, replace the files with the new ones. That easy! You have a choice of two AC files now. Feel free to test them out. The difference between the two is the AC20: The first file is in the video above, the second is able to be heard, here:
If you decide you don't like the new PPC/AC/MG (AND MORE NOW) sounds, feel free to replace the new .bnk with the original. It won't break! Hopefully! Keep in mind that I am both new to modding and not a lot of info is out for this stuff yet. If you have issues, well, I'm probably unable to help, to be honest!
