New version is released with increased availability of the sinks. Standard and Mining sinks can now be found on some worlds in unlimited quantity. This is an attempt at making the items more common as they were barely appearing, although I'm now worried I might have gone too far in the other direction.
Don't worry about that. with new version have barely found any. Have encountered sale of IND (7 ton) versions 3 times, and IND+ (5 ton) version only once. Have never yet encountered the 3rd type--despite frequent trips to relevant worlds. ...................
Week 174--finished main campaign. New version of mod has resulted in 7 tonner (9 space) unit being very common--found on over a dozen worlds. But the IND+ unit (5 tonner) have still only encountered once (early in campaign; on Detroit?); other versions never.
The Mining (+) version can be found unlimited on worlds that having particularly advanced/hot mining sites. There is at least one world outside of the major faction boarders with such a situation, and at least two places inside the Reach that have the right conditions.
The Compact (++) units now possibly appear at any location that has unlimited versions of another kind. This mostly increases their chances by letting them appear on the mining worlds noted above. Lostech units (+++) are rarely found on any Star League marked world. These two are intended to be rarer as they are more of a direct upgrade compared to normal sinks rather than a cumbersome option. I'll try and get some time to check their appearance myself and see what I can find.
Excellent concept, but can't get the mod to load/work. Have 11 other modtek/BTML mods installed and running fine, so can't figure why your mod won't work. Have visited all world types (research, blk mrkt, etc.), so need guidance on how to get some joy on this.
One way to check if they are in the game at all is to check the skirmish mechbay option at the menu. Three of them should be available there. In the campaign itself they are admittedly rare to actually show up even in my own experience, but I'm not sure how to boost their chances.
For the specific requirements, the basic version is just any manufacturing world. The next one is any world with mining, without a requirement of manufacturing. The third requires manufacturing and rich, and the lostech one also needs there to be the Star League tag.
If you know a way to make them show up more often let me know. I want them to be more commonly found than I'm seeing them myself.
Gotcha. Finally found the 5 ton version--briefly. Haven't seen any others since. Only had enough $$ for 3 of them...
Just tried out the Advanced Difficulty Settings mod; it has different variables for increasing % of encountering rares. You might want to check out her code: https://www.nexusmods.com/battletech/mods/241?tab=files It works well for other equipment mods I'm using, increasing frequency of modded goodies.
This is a very nice mod. I played a few missions with this mod installed and the modded heatsinks are good to have in Mechs that can afford to have a large number of open slots in the Side Torsos.
