About this mod

This mod allows Weaponsmith to offer players the ability to "augment" their weapons for a fixed price. Weapon augmentation doesn't direct buff your weapon but instead to enhance one property at the cost of another based on the type of augmentation.

Weapon Augmentation

Few Words

Inspired from how the base game has armor attachments to modify or add effects to already existing armors. I have always wanted to implement something similar for the weapons too, however, the closest things are famed weapons and by their very nature, it's entirely dependent on RNG, not something player can have control over without cheating. So this is why the "Weapon Augmentation" was made.

The whole purpose of "Weapon Augmentation" is to allow players to alter a certain property of a weapon in a way further benefit their character builds. I'm talking about min/maxing, specialized builds but it should never be a straight up upgrade from the original weapon. There is a cost for everything, and for that why, to use this system is to enhance one property at the cost of another, and most of the time the cost may be probably higher. That's up to you (the players) to decide whether you can take advantage of it or not.

Overview

With this mod, you can head to any Weaponsmith to make any augmentation to your weapons with a small price of 1500 crowns, the same for removing any augmentation from your weapons too.

Also enemies you encounter, have 10% chance to be equipped with weapon with a random augmentation. Don't ask me why there is a crossbow with a "Smashing" augmentation, it's RNG lol.

An example of an augmentation on a weapon

By hovering your mouse over an item in your side of the UI, you can see the hint in tooltip letting you know to use "mouse left-click + ALT" keybind to open the Weapon Augmentation UI screen.

Highlighting the hint in the tooltip

Trying to open the UI screen on an invalid item will result in a small popup telling you to pick a valid item

The popup when trying to augment an invalid item

In the Weapon Augmentation UI screen, there is a list of all available augmentations in form of buttons, clicking on any of them will immediately close the popup and apply the selected augmentation on your selected weapon while also paying the fee (1500 crowns as mentioned above).

Clicking on the "Cancel" button will close the UI screen without anything happens.

The Weapon Augmentation UI

If the selected weapon already has an augmentation, there will be an option to remove it. Also if your weapon doesn't have access to the "Split Shield" active skill, you won't be able to see the option to pick the "Smashing" augmentation.

"Reinforced" augmentation can only be applied on weapons have fatigue penalty.

"Far Shot" augmentation can only be applied on ranged weapons. Don't waste it on a one-time-use weapon likes "Throwing Spear", unless you have a mod to change that lol.

Available Augmentations

There is 10 augmentations in total. Each with their own up and down sides, some of them are useful, some of them are situational. Your choice whether it's good or not.
