Hello, im a user of race mods, like TGAW (Transient Guests Are We), As Well As Changelings, AAsimar, etc. etc. It is my belief that These are special exceptions, changelings being able to have any type, should receive a bonus based on their current body type. I assume. While TGAW is a Dhampyr, therefore a vampiric undead, I think bonuses like that should have a special trait, as body size does not matter, that is also extended to Aasimar, which is the manifestation of a god, which would surely have their own bonuses that transcend body size. Id also like to extend some of these specializations to any class that can shapeshift, Beasts are force on their own, and body size bonuses can attribute to some of these attributes but not all, do you have any specification for any of the aforementioned outliers?
Hi! In my opinion, whatever your race, bodytype plays a role, it's still your natural physical form, a tool through which one interacts with the world, with its inherent strengths and weaknesses. And one you're used to, with all associated learnt behavior.
Whether you're a simple human, an Aasimar, a Dhampyr or whatever, if you're tall and beefy, you're stronger than if you were not, and you're also a bit more clumsy, just because most things aren't meant for that size.
This is a separate thing from racial features entirely. I disagree with "body size does not matter" for your chosen examples. I see no reason why a Dhampyr or an Aasimar would be above such considerations (Aasimar are simply descendants of Celestials afaik, not manifestations of gods).
Changelings could be an exception, but they still have their natural, personnal form they default to. This, imo, shapes them the same way it does for other races. Their ability to better mimic others when changing form should be reflected in their racial features, not in a change of their natural body they grew with.
I may not understand what you're saying regarding wildshapes, could you elaborate?
Overall, hope this clarifies the reasoning behind this mod.
Hello, thank you for your mod, i like the idea but i feel that having boost stats is unbalanced, what do you think about skills instead like athletics etc?
For Instance =
Large = Athletics bonus Skinny = Acrobatics Bonus Small = Stealth bonus
The idea is to help making more specialised builds, and give more identity and an incentive to choose a particular body type, so however a little unbalanced, it is the intent. Though, it is easy to make an alternative version, which you can make for yourself by editing the mod's files. If there's more demand for it I can consider making it myself and upload it.
Very cool concept, but it feels weird that a skinny body gets a boost to intelligence (wish that's how it worked in real life, i would be smart enough to mod myself). Would adding an alternate file with +2 dexterity instead be in the scope of this mod?
The reasonning is not about being actually skinny, but being Gith/Illithid, who both value intelligence, and both look alien to other races, and act in a way that's intimidating. It just happens that both these races look skinny so that's the word I went for.
I had the same feeling. I understand the reason for the buffs/debuffs, but maybe a different descriptor could be used. The implication is kind of hurtful.
If your feelings are hurt by a mod you can NOT use the mod and let the rest of us continue enjoying it. Over a hundred people found it wonderfully acceptable including myself, and if this mod every changes the wording to not hurt feelings i'll change the wording back to the original and reupload it to the modding sites that respect creative freedom. Thanks for your work Siaell.

I came with similar question, how-ever, I got this mod installed, but I am not sure if it works! Are there any status icons that should appear in game? None of the character's have them if so.
Yes the party members should have a Notable feature stating their size category and the benefits that go along. They even use the appropriate icon for the character. It doesn't work on most modded races though, only ones I included are WotD and Ghastly Ghouls so far. You can look at the console upon loading the save to check if there is any error.
Oh, yes, indeed! Sorry, my bad - it took me going through the long list of passives twice to notice it on my companions. Also, I love that the icon for the Aasimar has wings but it threw me ff the first time I was looking for it! Thank you for the mod, and if you made it to apply to all NPCs, that would be fun :)

Since it's intended and described as looking alien, I might just use that.
